How you do one thing is how you do everything. 👀
Bit dramatic, right? Except… it’s not, is it. Because most of us aren’t undone by one big failure. We’re undone by the small stuff. The tiny promises we make to ourselves that no one else ever sees. “I’ll go to bed earlier tonight.” “I’ll actually wind down instead of scrolling.” “I’ll stop working at 7, not 9.” No witness. No accountability. Which is exactly why it’s so easy to let slide. 🙃 But here’s the hopeful bit: if the small habit shapes the whole pattern… it can also change it. You don’t need to overhaul your entire life to sleep better. You for instance just need your evenings to stop happening to you. Netflix till midnight because that’s just what evenings look like. Working late because the job demands it. Scrolling because it’s easier than sitting in the quiet. None of that makes you undisciplined. It just means nothing else has taken its place yet. So tonight, one small, deliberate thing. Something that tells your body: right, we’re winding down now. A warm drink. Dimmer lights. Ten minutes of actual stillness. Small. Maybe even boring. But it’s the thing that changes the whole trajectory. ✨ What’s the one small thing you’d consider changing tonight? Tell me below 👇

Have you heard of the Observer Effect? 🌙
Quantum physics or proper woo-woo? Honestly, I think it might be one and the same. Here’s the idea: just by observing something, you draw in the possibility that it will happen. That’s the Observer Effect, and it’s a bit of a Law of Attraction favourite. But here’s the part that gets me every time, you can do this for other people. And they can do it for you. So imagine that, but as a whole community. Picture everyone in here, all of us, holding each other in mind. All picturing each other landing exactly where we’re meant to be. All sending out that steady “yes, this is coming for you.” And because it’s not our own dream we’re focused on, there’s none of the usual resistance getting in the way. No fear, no doubt, no “but what if it doesn’t happen”, because we’re not attached to each other’s outcomes the way we are to our own. We can just see it clearly. Feel it. Believe it. And that belief becomes a signal boost. Then someone does the exact same for us. This is why doing this together matters so much more than doing it alone. It’s not just your hope carrying the weight anymore, it’s everyone’s, all pointed at each other, on repeat. So here’s what I’d love to try: drop a comment below with one thing you’re hoping to align with right now, better sleep, more ease, a bit more calm in your evenings, whatever it is. And let’s all hold that for each other. 💛 You’re never doing this on your own in here. Berit x

The boundary nobody warns you about 🌙
There is something that doesn’t make it onto the “healthy sleep habits” lists and it’s this ⬇️ Often setting a boundary around your sleep can genuinely ruffle feathers. Not in a dramatic way, more a slightly hurt look when you leave the sofa before the film’s finished. A raised eyebrow when you say you’re eating dinner earlier now, because eating at 9pm was never doing your sleep any favours. I want you to sit with this: You are not doing something wrong. That’s just what happens when you change, even slightly, and the people around you feel the shift. Boundaries are personal. What’s right for you might look completely different to what’s right for your partner, your mum, your best mate. So when you draw a new one, earlier bedtime, no phone after 9, dinner that doesn’t sit on your chest till midnight, it can feel like you’re the disruptive one. You’re not. You’ve just stopped absorbing everyone else’s rhythm as your own. And it’s tempting to let the boundary slide instead, because new boundaries cause friction and ignoring them keeps the peace. Except that peace is costing you your sleep, and eventually your mood, your patience, your ability to actually show up for the people you’re trying not to inconvenience. A reframe that helps: the friction isn’t proof you’re doing it wrong. It’s proof something’s genuinely changing, and change is uncomfortable for everyone in the room, including you. 💬 Over to you: What’s one sleep boundary you’ve been putting off because you know it’ll ruffle a feather or two? Name it below ⬇️ Sometimes just saying it out loud makes it easier to actually do. Berit x

This resonate so much. My friends know it. At parties and holidays I am always the one going first to bed. They do not longer mind. Now they know I make coffee next morning
Why your body won’t let you rest when life feels too much 🌙
Lovely humans, if you’ve been lying awake lately, wired but exhausted, mind going round in circles, I want you to hear this: it’s not a personal failing. It’s your nervous system doing exactly what it’s designed to do.❤️ When life piles on, your body reads that as a threat. And a threatened body only has one job, stay alert, not fall asleep. Here’s what’s actually happening. ⬇️ Cortisol, your main stress hormone, is supposed to dip in the evening to make way for melatonin, the hormone that eases you into sleep. But when stress is running high, cortisol stays up long past bedtime, keeping your mind wired and your body braced, even when you’re utterly shattered. That’s why you can be running on empty and still lying there at midnight, wide awake. And it doesn’t stop at falling asleep. Stress fragments the sleep you do get, pulling you out of the deep, restorative stages and into lighter sleep that’s far easier to wake from. So you’re up more through the night, and even after a full eight hours, you still feel like you’ve barely slept. It becomes a loop, and not a kind one, poor sleep leaves you less able to cope with stress, and that stress makes good sleep even harder to reach. Sound familiar? I think it’s worth sitting with this, because it takes the shame out of a sleepless night. Lying awake isn’t weakness or a lack of discipline, it’s a nervous system that hasn’t been given the signal it’s safe to switch off yet. And the way through isn’t forcing sleep. It’s gently showing your body that safety again, 🌙 winding down properly before bed, 🌙 working with your nervous system instead of against it, and 🌙 treating rest as something you prepare for, not something you just hope turns up. 💛 I’d love to know, is stress the main thing standing between you and good sleep right now? Drop a 🌙 below if this one landed, or tell me what your nights have looked like lately. Berit x 🌙

Welcome to ‘Simply Sleep’. 🌙✨ You’re here because sleep has become a struggle. And if you’re anything like the women I work with, you’ve probably tried everything, the apps, the supplements, the routines, the white noise machines, and still you’re awake at 3am, mind churning, body tense, wondering what’s wrong with you. Here’s what I know: nothing is wrong with you! Your nervous system is just sending you signals it doesn’t feel safe. This community exists because sleep isn’t about discipline. It’s not about doing more, optimizing harder, or forcing yourself into some prescribed routine. Real sleep restoration happens when we understand why we don’t sleep, and then we address it, not with shame, but with compassion and biology. In ‘Simply Sleep’, we work with a simple framework: ❤️ Your nervous system as the foundation (polyvagal theory, vagal tone, co-regulation) ❤️ Your values as the compass (what actually matters to you, not what Instagram says should) ❤️ Sense of Coherence as the target (feeling that your life makes sense, even in the hard bits) This means we’ll explore: ✓ What’s really keeping you awake (hint: it’s often not what you think) ✓ How to work with your body instead of against it ✓ The sleep-nutrition-nervous system triad that most people miss ✓ Real tools that feel gentle, not like another thing to force What you’ll find here: 📚 The Classroom: structured modules that build monthly 💬 This community space: real conversations, no algorithms, just us 🎙️ Access to my podcast and guided visualizations 🤝 A group of women who truly get what sleep struggle feels like What you won’t find: ✗ Judgement (you’re doing your best) ✗ “Just relax” advice (if it were that simple, you’d already be asleep) ✗ Selling you supplements you don’t need ✗ Toxic positivity wrapped in wellness language This is a place where your sleep struggles are taken seriously, your nervous system is understood, and healing happens slowly, gently, and for real. I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s do this together.
