As German my first foreign language was English. But before that my parents made a journey to Italy with my sister and me. There we played with the Italian children near the sea and sang songs with them. Later in school or among peers (I mean friends) we learnt songs in different languages: Sakura Japanese, Bela Ciao; Cucù, cucù L'inverno l'è passato Italian, (https://youtu.be/rJ7K2_Z-Crk?si=KcclfmKDyQhlA2ov), Avarot, Hebrew. Frère Jaques, French. When I wasten and my sister twelve my father took us on a jourey to London and for the first time I heard real spoken Mothertongue English... British. And as my father had to go to a conference my sister and me went sightseeing on our own. And asked people for the way, for the time...Very impressing. Then we had a Spanish girl helping my mum with the three youngest children (from us altogether seven) and she used to talk a lot in Spanish and her song bringing them to sleep "Vamos ala cama.." I had a persian classmate, from her I learnt "Chodafes" to say good bye. After two years of English in School I started French. My father taught my family and neighbors some Russian once a week. After school I worked in an orphanage in Haiti for some time where I used my French and learnt a bit of the local Kreol. Back home I started teaching German and learnt some Turkish and Arabic. Short time ago I started learning Chinese.
Community Hosted Hangout — First Meet-Up!
This is our first Community Hosted Hangout, and it’s designed to be simple and relaxed. There’s no agenda. The goal is for kids and families to meet, say hi, and start building friendships. As you make friends with other families, you can decide how you want to use the time—chatting, practicing speaking, playing games, or just hanging out. The room will be OPEN for 24 hours, so you can join whenever it works for you. Since this is the very first meet-up, I’ll be hosting and modeling how it works so everyone feels comfortable. Parents and kids are both welcome for this first one. Please vote for the time for this FIRST hosted meet-up: 🕛 12:00 PM EST 🕓 4:00 PM EST Drop your vote in the comments 👇Looking forward to meeting you all! To help make buddies, tell us... -Your kid's age -Your kid's first language -Your kid's language they are learning Example: Sunny, 9yo, English, German

@Juliana Russell so the whole Sunday, today, the meeting is open. I suggest that those who want to meet join in on the full hour. This will reduce seeing no one. Or set two or four times during the day.
Drawing in the workbook
We are enjoying this program so much! We are slowly working through the workbook. My kids were really proud of this page where they did a drawing of the first story “Under the Sea”. I told them I would share their pictures in the community.
