✈️ Let’s Talk About Real-Life English – Airport & Booking Challenge! 🧳📞💬
Hey everyone! 👋🏼 This week’s writing topic is all about airports and making reservations — two important and real-life situations where we all use English while traveling! 🌍✈️🏨 Whether you’re booking a flight or a hotel, checking in, or finding your gate — English is a key part of the experience. This challenge helps you practice what to say, how to ask for help, and how to stay confident in real-life travel situations 💬✨ We’re putting you in two situations: 1. You’re at the airport 2. You’re making a reservation by phone You’ll imagine how you speak, ask, answer, and deal with each step 🗣️ 🧳 AIRPORT ENGLISH – Practice Situations: – Asking for help or directions – Talking to airline staff or security – Checking in your bags – Asking about gates and times – Handling problems (like lost luggage or delays) 📞 BOOKING BY PHONE – Practice Situations: – Calling a hotel to book a room – Calling an airline to buy a ticket – Asking about prices, availability, or services – Making changes or cancellations – Giving your information clearly and politely 🎯 Your mission: Choose and answer as many questions as you like — in one paragraph or more. Be creative, be real, and imagine yourself in the moment. 💭 Writing Prompts & Reflection Questions: 🛫 At the Airport: 1. Describe your first airport experience. Where were you going? Were you nervous? 2. What English phrases do you use at the check-in counter? 3. What would you say if you don’t know where your gate is? 4. Have you ever lost a bag or had a flight delay? How did you handle it? 5. How do you politely ask about boarding time or gate number? 6. Imagine you’re at passport control — how do you answer questions about your trip? 📞 Booking a Ticket or Hotel: 7. What phrases do you use when booking a hotel room by phone? 8. How would you ask about prices or available dates for a flight? 9. What do you say if you want to cancel or change your reservation? 10. How do you give your name, email, or credit card info clearly? 11. What’s one booking conversation you want to practice more? 12. What helps you feel confident when making a phone call in English?

In summer 2018 i traveled to Egypt for tourism, at first time my experience in toom and basal restaurant, this restaurant offers kusharay meals. When I arrived waitress come to me and asked : Hello mrs, welcome to the toom and basal restaurant, how many? I : two W: please have a seat your waitress will be with you in a moment I : thanx Another waitress come and asked me : Would you like to order now? I : yes, what do you have food? W : we have just kushary meals🍲. I : i see, ok i would like a bowl of kushary please. W : would you like any something else? Yes, I'd like a bottle of water please🍶. W : ok your order is coming right up. Personally, i love it, it was delicious and perfect meal. But i faced small thing with taste, all Egyptian meals include kammon taste, this is unnormal for us 😵‍💫. Unnormal for all Jordanian. In the end the bill was very low compared in the jordan restaurant. So it was a nice experience, i recommend to all people who visit Egypt 😊
