@John Mapel I’ve been really fortunate to have travelled extensively and to have lived outside of America for several years on multiple continents (South America - Brazil; Asia - Cambodia; and Europe - England) and having experienced so many different ways of life as well as seeing how my personal values and interests aligned with the places I’d lived and travelled I knew I wanted to be permanently located in Europe. Spain has always been a special place for me, it was the first place I solo travelled when I was 18, it’s a language I have a working familiarity with and interest to learn, and luckily they had visas that I was eligible for and seemingly a desire for immigrants to come to the country to build a life here. I think all of that came together to make Spain the ideal candidate! I’ve been thinking about it passively since 2023 (I spent 3 months in Barcelona finishing my masters dissertation from a UK university) and working on it actively since January of this year! Got the Visa Monday so I’m here for the next 3 years and plan to renew & eventually apply for permanent residency ✨
