PTE Writing Essay Practice
This is my essay to practice PTE Writing skills, I am really appreciated if I can have some feedback from you, thank you so much! Question: Some people point that experiential learning (i.e. learning by doing) can work well in formal education. However, others think a traditional form of teaching is the best. Do you think experiential learning can work well in high schools or colleges? Opinions are divided as to whether experiential learning could work well in formal education or the traditional teaching method could better support academic achievement. I firmly believe that learning by doing could be effective in both high schools and universities when this method is properly integrated into curricula. First and foremost, one major benefit of experiential learning is that this approach allows students to use theoretical knowledge in practice. To be more specific, instead of memorising English grammar rules, students can be encouraged to practice writing and speaking. For example, according to an official annual report by the Ministry of Education in Vietnam, 80% of high school students who experienced experiential learning tended to achieve higher scores in formal written examinations. In addition, learning by doing also provides students with an opportunity to develop other soft skills, which are often learned from outside school environments. To illustrate, when students are involved in a project or a presentation with other classmates, they can naturally learn communication and teamwork skills, which are particularly valued in everyday situations. Take university students in Vietnam as an example, they tend to prefer practical, experiential assessment over traditional written tests because hands-on experience helps better comprehend academic content. In conclusion, learning by doing could help students not only achieve higher academic results but also gain other crucial soft skills. Therefore, teachers and educators should consider and plan lessons with more interactive activities to encourage students to participate in active learning.
