Backtest vs live
I’m curious, lately I’ve realised that my biggest challenge isn’t understanding my strategy. It’s fully trusting it when real money is on the line and sitting in uncertainty. I know what I’m looking for, but executing with the same confidence I have in backtesting is a completely different skill. So I’m wondering, what was the single biggest shift that took you from knowing your strategy to actually trusting it live? Not a technical tweak, but the mental shift. I’d genuinely love to hear everyone’s experience because I have a feeling this is where a lot of traders quietly struggle.

I also had this issue when i first started out, you can learn a strategy from someone and even think you understand it properly, but for all you know you could be trading the strategy completely wrong and remain unprofitable for a year before realising actually you aren't in fact trading it correctly. My advise would be to learn a strategy fully and backtest it. Yes ofc there will be some variance in the live markets with spreads, execution etc, but imo this is the only way you will gain confidence and know first hand the strategy worked in the past and is likely to work in the future if executed the same. You will also discover your max loss streak, average RR month and even identify and refine areas to improve the strategy. I firmly believe that level of confidence in execution can only be found by either backtesting or trading profitably for years.

@Elise Saahlie exactly and I learnt the hard way. Never blindly trust someone, I’m not saying that certain person cannot trade, but it could be like you said, a subtle lack of execution or understanding in the strategy may be the difference between profitability and unprofitability. I’m currently full time trading but I’ve come from a HTF limit order strategy which was great while I was working full time, but the profits are pretty slow, I’m venturing out into more market execution strategies now on LTF now that I have more time on the charts
Sharing my last 2 day's experience. And asking for advice.
I want to tell you about the trades I took over the last two days. I have basically become a perfect example of how someone can correctly predict everything and still somehow get stopped out and lose money. I am going to explain how two trades on two different instruments went wrong even though my overall analysis was correct, and I would like to ask for your advice. First, let’s start with UKOIL. My first entry, which I marked on the chart I shared, was excellent. I planned it as a swing trade and targeted the lowest POC. I opened a short position on Thursday night from the area shown on the chart. When I woke up on Friday morning, which is today, the price had reacted from the area I circled in white, and half of my profit was gone. Honestly, I got scared and closed the trade. After that, I opened another short from the area marked as my second entry. At that point, I fell into the fear of missing out on the move. I risked more than I normally would, and the price reacted from the swing low on the left side of the chart and stopped me out. My second trade was on XAU. There was a four-hour swing high around the POC area. I patiently watched the market because I expected the price to move short after taking that swing high. Afterward, the price formed a bearish structure, and I entered a short position. I shared one screenshot showing the overall view and two closer screenshots. The same thing that happened on UKOIL happened again. When XAU reacted upward, I moved my stop loss to my entry price. Then the price formed another bearish structure, so I opened another short position. This time, I was stopped out and lost money. After that, the price reacted from a higher area and eventually moved down to the target I had originally expected. It is very frustrating to predict everything correctly and still lose money. I know I am capable of doing this, and I know that somehow I will succeed. When the price temporarily moves against my plan, I get scared, even though there is not actually anything to be afraid of. How can I overcome this fear?

@Metin Demirelli I would advise backtesting. This will give you all the confidence you need in the live market to stick exactly to the plan, it's real data and evidence the strategy works. After that you will always stick to your plan because you have the hard evidence that it works

Learning Material
Hi. I have been through the recorded livestream and the PDF's. I'm a relatively experienced trader already but some of the concepts Razvan uses are new to me. Until new course content is uploaded, those that are already familiar with the strategy, can you recommend any external education / youtube videos that are similar to the strategy here that I will find helpful in the meantime?
