5 contributions to ASKSIDNEY - FIX THE TRADER
21-08-2026
Today I took four trades: 2 losses and 2 wins. One loss I followed all my rules, and I was in a good emotional state. However, I did not follow my rules on the other three trades. My biggest fear was, “What if it goes against me?” Even though some of those trades were winners, I was disappointed because they were not part of my plan. After having such a disciplined week, today reminded me that a winning trade can still be a bad trade if it breaks my rules. I keep asking myself, “What if it had gone against me?” The lesson is to focus on execution and discipline, not the outcome.

First trade of the week, and I followed all my rules throughout the execution without forcing anything. Every box on my checklist was checked before entering the trade. I calculated my risk before execution and entered with a clear plan. Once in the trade, I allowed it to play out without moving my stop-loss or take-profit. I stayed disciplined and trusted my strategy instead of interfering with the trade.

📊 TODAY’S EOD REVIEW — EVERYONE HAS A LESSON TO TAKE
Team, I’ve finished reviewing all 10 EOD forms, and I want to personally highlight something from each of you. Micheal Hope — You didn’t take a trade today, which is fine when there’s no valid setup. You also asked how you can become profitable by December. My question to you is: what are the 3 specific things you need to improve between now and December to give yourself the best chance of getting there? Kariuki Mesheck — You skipped the pre-market checklist and ended up taking 4 impulsive trades. That’s something we need to address. What do you think triggered the impulsive trading today, and what will you do tomorrow to prevent it? Christine Njeri — Excellent day. 🔥 But don’t just celebrate the result. What exactly did you do today that made your execution so good, and how can you repeat it tomorrow? Eric Nyokabi — No trade today, and you didn’t force one. Good discipline. 👊 What made you decide that staying out was the right decision? Simon Shalom — No trade and you followed the plan. That’s exactly what we want. What did you see in the market that told you there was no valid opportunity? Andrew Maragia — Strong day overall, but you identified trading without confirmation as a challenge. What usually happens in your mind just before you enter without confirmation—FOMO, impatience, or something else? Jade Solomon — No trade and you followed the plan. Good. What was the hardest part about staying out of the market today? I want you to be honest here. Lewis Kuria — Another solid day. No setup, no trade. 🔥 What temptation did you have to manage today, if any, when you saw the market moving without you? Ndungu Njore — You took one trade and raised a very important question about patience while in a trade. What usually makes you want to interfere with a trade after you’ve already entered? Omiyang William — One trade, executed according to plan. Good work. You also asked about building discipline. What is ONE specific habit you can repeat every trading day that will make you more disciplined

@Omiyang William The temptation to stay out of the market was strong, especially because my checklist clearly told me not to trade. It was difficult to stay away from the charts, but I managed to engage in other activities to keep myself distracted and avoid unnecessary market exposure. Yesterday, I also did not fill out my EOD form, even though I did not take any trades. I stayed away from the charts and the market because I recognized that I was not in the right state of mind to trade fatigue won yesterday. The important thing is that I listened to my rules and respected my mental state instead of forcing a trade. Staying out of the market was also a decision, and yesterday, that was the right decision agian since before i had been overtrading and trading just because the market was moving
THE PROCESS

The Day I Chose Discipline Over Opportunity
Today, all I had was the adrenaline and urge to enter the market. My analysis said to enter, but my rules said not to trade today. It was difficult, especially watching the market move exactly as my strategy had predicted. However, since my rules clearly state that I should not trade on days with high-impact news, I decided to stay away. I felt something different—no pressure, no regret, and no need to chase the market. Instead, I felt calm and patient, knowing that I had followed my rules and that the next opportunity would come.
