Whatever Works, Right?
All animals have to breathe, but this was a new one for me. Breathing through your reproductive organs? Introducing The Mary River turtle: https://www.edgeofexistence.org/species/mary-river-turtle/

What an incredible creature!
Turning Into Something Beautiful
“A caterpillar knows it's a butterfly, even if the whole world tries to convince it that it's just a worm.” ― Matshona Dhliwayo I’ve been captivated by the courage and talent of this young man, Dylan Holloway. His journey, both as a transgender youth and as a musician has been a welcome reminder of what is possible and often necessary for real transformation to take place: https://passalongsongs.substack.com/p/times-like-these-turn-into-something Please join me in liking and sharing his amazing work.

Wonderful...It's one of the sweetest thing I've ever seen ❤️. Thank you Jena to always highlight all the most precious things you meet!
Menagerie Monday: Enthralled by Snails
I confess I've never gotten close enough to a snail to watch it eat. But this is adorable (in my humble opinion of course). After seeing this video I started to think about how snails carry their homes on their backs and the fact that they have two two pairs of retractable antennae on their heads. One pair contains their eyes while the second is used to navigate through smell. They're pretty nifty critters, don't you think?

little creatures are so nice! I love snails. When I was a child I always ask my mother to take me some from the market where they sold them as food. I put them in a little bag and I gave them salad! You know my passion from amphibians too! I made this video last spring (the date recorded is wrong). Don't they look like little spirits of the pond?

@Jena Ball I took this video of the toads with a photo trap...I guess their eyes were mirroring the light of the street lamps
Tag You're It: Learninng From Horses in Nature
I'm pleased to feature @Letizia Stagno 's "Horse Watching" community, which approaches horses in a new and intriguing way. So often, people see horses as instruments or tools for entertainment, transportation, and work. But Letizia asks what would happen if humans stepped back and let horses teach us? To quote Letizia, "In this group, you will observe horses in nature, interacting with other horses in their own environment. And I assure you it will be fantastic! Together we will explore aspects of their behavior and an ethical approach to these wonderful sentient beings. I look forward to seeing you there!!!" Thank you @Jena Ball for helping me to share a new colture about horses and a different way to be horse lovers!
Monday Menagerie: Sound Effects From a Weddell Seal
I couldn’t resist sharing a second Monday Menagerie. Who knew these seals were so vocal?! They live in Antarctica, can weigh up to 900 lbs. (450 kg), dive to depths of 600 meters, (2,000 feet) and stay underwater for up to 90 minutes. This guy looks like he is having a pretty intense dream! Wonder what it’s about. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1EYD3xvMM9/
