Question-how to know when financial news isn’t noise??
I’m a mid-period GenXer with 5-7 years before retirement. 95% of my investable assets are locked up in retirement accounts (workplace and IRAs). My low level concern is staring to increase greatly about the economy and investing. I usually ignore financial but it’s getting harder to do. Mainly because I don’t understand it…I hear gold and silver are trading at all-time highs while the stock market is also at all-time highs, but these two things tend to move in the opposite direction, I think. Also hearing about oil being traded in petrodollars and what it means if it is changed to another currency. Lastly, I’m hearing lower interest will hurt the economy in its current state. None of this makes sense to me. Not sure if I should be concerned!? Looking for direction of what indicators to watch and/or how I can educate myself.
