This deal was far from easy. The owner lived in a completely different state and hadn’t seen the property or spoken to the tenant in over 20 years. She had no contact information for the tenant and didn’t even know if he was still living there. When I first arrived at the property, no one was home. The house looked almost completely vacant and was locked up. Instead of giving up, I started knocking on doors around the neighborhood until I finally tracked down the tenant’s contact information. Turns out, the tenant was a genuinely great guy. He was open, cooperative, walked me through the property, and even allowed me to install a lockbox to move the deal forward.
