World Cancer Day | Every Screen Matters
Today is World Cancer Day, and the message is simple but powerful: Every Screen Matters. Screening saves lives, but so does feeling supported, seen, and regulated while navigating health challenges. Cancer can bring fear, uncertainty, and deep emotional fatigue, even for those supporting a loved one from the sidelines. This community exists because healing isn’t only medical, it’s also emotional, relational, and embodied. Slowing down, creating space to breathe, expressing what words can’t always hold… these are part of care too. If you or someone you love has been touched by cancer, know that your experience matters here. 🤍 What does support look like for you right now, and are you allowing yourself to receive it?

@Mayakia Anderson Thank you for recognizing that. In my work with individuals with chronic illness they have expressed that they feel as though they have dropped out of their lives and have been forgotten about. So many thoughts and feelings ruminated on illness.
Find your blissful moments
On hard days, look for blissful moments. Bliss isn’t happiness. It's the moments that don’t ask anything of you. A sip of something warm. Sunlight on your face. A deep exhale you didn’t realize you were holding. And if you have trouble finding blissful moments, take a walk with a six-year-old. They will find ladybugs and inchworms, the tiniest of flowers, and watch squirrels and chipmunks play. That is what teaches us to slow down and just breathe. When life feels heavy, stop looking for big breakthroughs. Look for the soft interruptions. They’re how your nervous system remembers it’s allowed to rest. Where do you find your blissful moments?

@Kyoko S Rorie-Bruton That’s a lot to carry, and I really admire the work you’re doing. I hope you’re able to find some moments here to slow down, breathe, and unwind. I’m still building this community, but I’ll be sharing sound baths, workshops, workbooks, and expressive art practices to support nervous system regulation. I’d love to hear what you’re hoping for or what would feel most supportive for you here.

@Kyoko S Rorie-Bruton Choosing to slow down on your own terms is an act of care. Constant problem-solving drains the nervous system. Small SLOW moments still counts. Your deserves peace. 💛 I’m working on meditations and longer videos of sound baths I hope that can help you find some space for yourself.
Black History Month invites reflection
While I believe every culture holds wisdom worth honoring year-round, this month gives us space to pause and intentionally acknowledge the depth, resilience, and contributions of Black culture. One of the most powerful threads throughout Black history is the use of music and sound as a source of regulation, connection, survival, and healing. Through generations of struggle and resistance, music was never surrendered. It became prayer, protest, comfort, and community. Today, in honor of Black History Month, I’m sharing my first short sound bath video. My hope is that it offers a moment of rest, grounding, and gentle soothing for your nervous system. May it meet you where you are. 🤍

Processing through community grief
This video was originally meant to be an introduction to expressive art therapy — how it helps with anxiety, regulation, and the release of control. But in light of recent events and the collective grief many of us are carrying, it didn’t feel right to move forward without naming what’s happening around us. This video is an invitation to slow down, to witness what you’re carrying, and to remember that care, expression, and connection matter especially now.
