Monday Focus Check-In: Fresh Month Energy
Happy beginning of February, podcasters! New month, new strategic focus. (Not a new you, not a total overhaul - just one intentional priority.) Here's mine...I'm diving deep into refining my SEAMless Framework™ materials this month. January showed me where podcasters are getting stuck, and I want to make sure my resources actually unstick them. Your turn: What's your ONE strategic focus for February? Not your to-do list, not everything you hope to accomplish. Just the one thing that, if you moved it forward this month, would make you feel like you're playing the long game well. Maybe it's: - Finally mapping out your content themes for Q1 - Reaching out to 3 dream guests - Setting up that SEO strategy you've been avoiding - Building in consistent reflection time so you're not just creating on autopilot Or maybe life is lifin', and your focus is "keep the podcast going while I handle what I need to handle." That counts, that's strategic too. Drop your ONE focus below. I'll be checking in throughout the day and might have some strategic nudges if you want them. And if you're lurking today? That's fine too. Sometimes reading everyone else's focuses helps clarify your own. Let's make February strategic, not busy. — Leah

@Andrea Balogun I'm so excited for you! I followed your podcast - LOVE the name - one tip and unsolicited advice - put a tagline in your podcast name field in your hosting platform. "Untangling Social Media | Practical Strategies for Entrepreneurs" or "Untangling Social Media | Digital Marketing for Entrepreneurs" Or something like that - I would pull in a keyword and who it's for, as that is the ONE space that the platforms will read first. Adding video is definitely a different ballgame, because audio and video have different audiences, consumption patterns, and styles. What I've seen work well for solos is to be yourself and have fun. Not sure where you are recording, but Riverside.fm has really great backend tools for editing videos. I'm using it more now that I have a couple of clients wanting video. Riverside makes it easy to switch views, etc. I LOVE that you play video games. I'm going to show my age and say that I love me some original Mario. lol What games are you playing? I'm happy you are here and excited to cheer you on!

@Amanda Hughes So sorry I missed your post! This was right after my grandma passed - but I'm so glad you are here!! What's your plan for using the podcast to convert listeners? What are you doing now? I love your why behind the podcast and that you have that nailed down! That's the biggest piece - Bravo!
Monday Question :)
Hey everyone I’ve been quiet the past couple of weeks, my grandmother passed away and it’s been a lot. But I’m back, and I’m excited to jump into this year with all of you. There’s something clarifying about stepping away and then coming back. It reminded me why I built this space in the first place, because podcasting can feel isolating, and we all need people who get it. So here’s my Monday question for us: What’s the ONE thing you’re focusing on the rest of this month that moves your podcast forward? Not the busy work, or the “shoulds.” The thing that, if you did nothing else, would make January feel like progress. For me, it’s getting back into my rhythm and making sure you all have what you need to think strategically, not just stay busy. Drop yours below. Let’s start the year strategic, not scattered.

@Andrea Balogun Thank you so much! 🧡 And I'm so excited that you sent out your invites today! Are you excited or nervous for the conversations?
Episode & cover art
Hey Leah, do you recommend having separate episode artwork that is different than my cover artwork? Thanks.

Great question! I have a podcast episode about this https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/difference-between-cover-art-and-episode-artwork-for/id1813873589?i=1000733819808 But to sum it up - The episode artwork is optional... Think of it like a chapter illustration in a book. It's nice to have, but the book still stands without them. Also, fun fact, not every podcast app will show the individual episode artwork. I would not create a separate graphic and just put the title of the episode on there - that doesn't do anything for you. (ask me how I know 😂) What I would do is pull out a spicy quote or tidbit and put that on your graphic. Now, if you look at my show, I put the title on there before this episode aired and then I took my own advice and you'll see that change with this episode specifically and beyond. Does that help?

@Cindi Stickle If you have a template for your show notes you could make a note on there to remind you of the timestamps 🙂
Intro question
Hi Leah! I was wondering if I should add a short clip from my episode before my intro? I know I’ve heard other podcasts that do that. Thanks!

Great question, Cindi! The reason I'm not a fan of this is because there is no context to what is being shared. I'd rather have a 30 sec intro and then just get right into it. But I know there are several out there who do this - so it's really a personal preference.
