I have a yearly tradition of assigning a keyword to each year. This keyword is like a navigation device. I ask myself, "Is what I'm about to do moving me toward this keyword, or away from it?" So for example, my keyword for 2025 is tentatively "EXPLORATION." If I choose to do something (or wonder if what I plan on doing will be favorable to me), I pit the idea against the keyword. If the idea supports and enhances the emotions and intention behind "exploration," then it's in alignment. The best keyword is no more than 2 words long, so "PROSPEROUS EXPLORATION" could also be mine, for example. What is your keyword for the year?

Well, those of you in the US? I hosted 22 family members. We literally brought in lawn furniture just to have enough seats at the tables! Today we're getting our Christmas tree (hopefully, unless they're sold out!)

I found this in an email newsletter from the Medium Blog this morning. It reminded me of our gratitude theme this month. I LOVE this idea!! "Create a folder on your desktop called 'wins.' Did someone just compliment you on Slack, Teams, email, or text? Take a screenshot and drop it into your own personal win bin—great for inspiration or writing self-evaluations." (Melissa DePuydt) My variation on this is that on days when I feel like I haven't gotten anything done (rough days, sloggy days, putting out fires days), I write an "end of day" list of every single thing I did that day, which is always MUCH greater than my saggy feelings might suggest.
