Perfect Blessed Monday Sons of God! This is a takeaway for sure, but more so a reflection on meditating on the Living Word. It can also be an open discussion as I would love to hear from you all as well🙏 On yesterdays deep teaching, we were instructed to read Judges 11- summary Jephthah’s vow and sacrifice. After reading and still meditating on it, a couple of questions started stirring up like: Why did his daughter ask for 2 months to wander with her companions and weep her virginity (she will not get married or have kids). Jephthah- He gave his daughter those 2 months to wander- part of delaying your vow to the Lord. He also didn’t follow the Law of Moses (Leviticus 5:4-6 and Leviticus 27: 1-8- repent and offer sacrifice or pay a specific amount to the treasury temple) Reflection: Did Jephthah say the wrong vow- even though The Lord asked for no such thing? Was he to quick to speak as we read in Ecclesiastes 5? Did he not know his covenant with the Lord that made him do this evil thing practice (sacrificing children- from the Canaanites) to serve the True Living God? His vow was not in alignment with our Righteous God.
