1 Ticket to Dark Chisme Tonight (2/5) at Baba Yaga
I’ve been looking forward to seeing Dark Chisme forever, but I’ve got a cold I just can’t shake. Happy to send you the ticket. If more than one person wants it, I’ll use a random number generator to pick someone. Really sad to not go, but really happy if you get to go and have a great time!

@Howie Cohen thank you!!!!
Record player
. I need to upgrade my record player. I have a basic Victrola that is skipping with my new record club albums. Looking for recommendations for a new one…thinking $200 range.

@Amy Weaver I’ve been revisiting the Afghan Whigs a lot lately, feeling very retro I guess.
National DJ Day
A month ago I was in NYC for work, and I ended up making a friend through an app and out of the millions of people in NYC, it was with someone who is a DJ at East Village Radio, volunteered at WFMU, worked in college radio, and a huge fan of DJ Sharlese and Mechanical Breakdown. I think DJs are cool and my friend (Neonlichter) has an EP release via Link Music Lab this Friday with their collaborators as part of Dastgâmachine. Check it out! DJs are a gift. https://linkmusiclab.bandcamp.com/album/dastg-machine-b-zs-zi

Album for Specific Mood?
Is there an album you only really listen to when you’re in a very, very specific mood? Like, any other time feels like the wrong time if you’re not in that mood? Kind of like an anchor? For me, Radiohead’s The Bends is the album, and it surprises me because I’m a casual Radiohead fan, but that album was there for me and is still is. Anyone else with that kind of surprise affection?

@Marco Mazzoni I love this, especially having a fondness for work by folks you know personally.

@Paul Kisicki damn, I love that album. Also very specific mood.
Fav Band You Can't See live
What's a favorite band that you weren't able to see live? There has to be some rules on this one, so here we go: - You must have been able to see them at some point, but didn't, for whatever reason - There's no likely way for you to see them live in the future, for whatever reason For me, there was a chance I could have seen Concrete Blonde play in New Mexico, but I only found out about the concert the day before, and there was no way I would have been able to make it up to the show never mind getting tickets. Also for me, there's bands I thought I'd never see which I've now seen four or five times, and bands that felt like they were right there which I never caught.

Soundgarden. I missed my last chance before Chris Cornell died when I said to myself, “I’ll catch them next time.”

@Robert Erbes after Tom Petty died, me and my late spouse only skipped concerts under duress. We saw the Rolling Stones the day he was diagnosed with cancer, and saw Neil Young with the family (my 11yo daughter’s guitar inspirations, and first time seeing him) 6 yrs later, passing away 3 wks after. Buy the ticket. See the show.
