Hermes Agent (Software Engineering Professor)
Still enrolled, still waiting to see what happens. But I'm on my term 1 break, and I wanted to stay fresh. I finally found a use for Hermes agent. Put $10 in credits into openrouter, took the api key and set it up in Hermes, now I'm using DeepSeek, Gemini, etc, and started creating a skill set for a software engineering professor. I had bought a bunch of Python ebooks DRM free through HumbleBundle.com a while back, so I "fed" the skill with the lessons in those books, along with a few other free sources of this information. I let it go crazy and built out a code editor on the right side of the screen. It may not be Maestro, but I managed to recreate the vast majority of the functions. It explains why you're wrong, using the book material as the primary source of truth. It gives you challenges and multiple choice quizzes. I can probably add a little homemade python script that can search youtube for matching college-level video resources. And it's not expensive to use at all. Just thought I'd share. It's not anywhere near as difficult as I assumed it'd be, especially if you add subjects/courses little by little. You could spin up your own professor at home. It's as good as the massive amount of accurate information you can feed it. If anyone is interested, I can help point you in the right direction. Might be cool to learn any subject, like even just how to fix your own vehicles or cook better or a million things. And it adds the discipline that using regular AI web prompts doesn't have without a bunch of custom prompts every session.

Maestro withdrew their appeal
According to the COE's website, as of August 7th, Maestro formally withdrew their appeal. Not sure how to take that news other than the 'fight' is over.

Please save it.
At this point you either keep studying or unenroll. We or should I say I don’t want to come on here and keep reading negativity. I will keep doing my work and seeing it through. Whatever happens, happens. You wanna leave be careful on the way out so the door doesn’t hit you. Please, enough!
Please save it.

CodePath Courses
Since we’re losing accreditation soon, it’s a good idea to take advantage of available university resources while we still have them! I recently applied and got accepted into a CodePath course focused on having AI as a partner to engineer production software. Once the course is complete, not only will you come out with experience and real projects to showcase, you will have a supporting community behind you. There’s also other courses to take depending on your experience level, and it’s only 10 weeks long! If there’s anyone interested, they’re currently accepting applications for fall but they’re closing soon! https://apply.codepath.org/organizations/codepathorg/application/oneapp-funnel-fall-2026/versions/general/requirements?ref=HOnYTzol
