Has anybody ever grown this Tiara Cabbage before? I've been growing it for a couple years and it's my favorite because it's only 1-2 lbs (perfect 1 or 2 week portion) and I can grow them 10" by 10" grid spacing and 15 of them fit on a 5 foot bed space. I've been doing some crop planning for the farm lately and all my favorite varieties are bouncing around my head. Anybody else garden planning yet?

All that hard yakka digging and planting has paid off ... Spinach will grow well for the second harvest ... So in a few more wks once the leaves are really big il have leaves for juicing / lunch / dinner meals Time to clean the yard lawns are getting mowed ... Looking at market gardening in the future possibly of excess left over veges every fortnight we have a markey my parents put together and my love of hmsteading means I'm keen to do a stall of that with fresh veges hm grown / Kombucha kits / bread bugs / seed bank And some hm made baking that's sugar free etc or suitable for clean eating Hm made cheese and mushrooms are on the list of things I want to do this yr!

Well I went out to bunnings nz and the warehouse nz and scored discounted veges & herbs ... I'm going to be busy planting! But first up I need to prep the front garden to plant the many beans iv scored last night woohoo Minimal need for herbs now ... Just need to grow them out well ... Right off to pot strawberry runners and repot the herbs ... Gonna be a busy 2 wks!

Sat 4th January! It's wet today , had a sleep in ... then after breakfast got ready to plant onions 60 of them and purple potatos but my veges in 2 gardens - 4 fruit bins - strawberries are getting watered well today I will only need to fertilize and mulch this week! I stepped outside got my seeds and tools ready then it started raining, I love working in the rain ... makes some jobs easier ... Last night I stake my vine tomatoes to help them be supported while they grow ... I'm potting strawberry runners today since it's wet and sowing silverbeet seeds I received yesterday from a friend's premise I visited with her mother Since it's wet today after I pot the strawberry runners , il make kombucha tea and make some fresh bread for dinner ... and i can sow some more seeds later too ... I found a way to make fencing around my gardens to keep my chooks out il plan that next wk ... I also need to kick start making the chooks a decent coop, I need my deck back! Theirs a pic of me with my headlamp on ... I use it to sow seeds and finishing gardening in the dark! Alrighty back too it!
