Hey everyone! If you're in Colorado, come by the Denver stop of the fly fishing show tomorrow. I will be tying flies at the Renomed table from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. I hope to see you there!
These are a super cool fly to fish at night when big trout are hunting. The stinger hook is attached with 20lb spider wire which helps keep the back from fouling. I use a double barrel popper head tied on reverse for the head of the mouse. Some foam underneath the yarn body helps this fly float correctly, as a mouse swimming through water would. Tutorial out soon!
@Aaron Laughlin I do fish it on a floating line, usually with a 6' leader. I'll usually just make a leader out of 20lb mono and tie it off with a perfection loop at the fly
Last night brought snow, inspiring me to photograph some of my latest works on a new set. I also want to share my progress with the Goddard caddis; I’ve been struggling with this pattern since I started, but I believe I achieved some nice results this time. I'm eager to hear what you think!

@Aaron Laughlin a bit of practice every is the key to success! I like to think a little bit of practice every day beats a long tying session once weekly.
