I plan on going to a lot of BNI groups. You can go to 2 meetings and advertise your services before you have to pay. Pay for the one in the direct market that you want to be in though. There are so many BNI chapters depending on what city you live in.
Why Coaching & Seminars Suck
For eight years, I was part of the residential real estate industry as a licensed real estate agent. Arguably one of the largest conference and seminar type of industries, where you pay a ton of money to go see people talk with a goal of leaving with tactical information on how to improve your business. Instead, what you typically get is a lot of motivation without any tactical information on how to implement the required steps to become successful in your field. I was always really hesitant to participate or create a group like we have here because of this notion and my past experiences. I was always told and motivated to run through a brick wall, but never was given the step-by-step instructions on how to actually do it. It seems to be a lot of motivation and accountability with no actual process to achieve said success. If you’ve experienced this, you know exactly what I’m talking about. My hope is that this group can be the opposite. A place where we share best practices, and help create step-by-step instructions on how to implement everything necessary to be successful. At any point if I waiver from this commitment, please call me out so I can ensure you guys have the exact process on how to achieve whatever level of success you desire.

I agree, Seminars suck for the reasons you stated above. Working groups and continuous running masterminds are the way to go.
