I think Self Report questionnaires are incredibly useful as long as the athlete, or individual taking the test, is truthful with themselves and their answers. Imagery Assessments are something I deem as useful in the sports world, as well as just interviewing or spending some time talking with an athlete.
I am new to the group and would like to chime in. With the word ‘uncertainty’ many people think negatively, immediately think of less than ideal scenarios, maybe even become somewhat scared. Being uncertain about what is around the corner isn’t always fun, it’s a lack of control. But in all honesty, in many situations, uncertainty is what makes the journey worth it. As a baseball coach, if I knew every way I tried to coach a specific fundamental worked for 100% of my players every time, it would not be any fun. The journey is uncertain, the outcome is uncertain. Uncertainty is one of the main building blocks of success. It allows us to learn from our failures, which allows us to embrace the situation and gives us a chance to keep moving forward and find a new path.
