That’s what a client of mine said recently, and it hit me right in the heart. I have a brother—but no sisters. And she said it as we were talking about why we hold women so close. Why we cling to sisterhood. Why we champion other women so fiercely. Why it means so much to be supported by women and to support them right back. It’s not just about friendship. It’s about filling something we never had growing up. And when you didn’t grow up with sisters, your soul aches for the safety, power, and love of other women. So when you find it, you protect it. You nurture it. You don’t take it lightly. I saw several women this week walking into rooms they used to pray for—experiencing breakthroughs they once only dreamed of—and it brought me to tears. I mean real tears. There’s something sacred about watching a woman: - Go to war for herself - Believe in herself - Believe in God - Believe in the Holy Spirit inside of her - Know she was built to do more - Understand that she is the solution to a problem in the world That kind of confidence? That kind of fire? It moves me every single time. Sisterhood still matters. There are women who will love you without gossiping about you. There are women who will cheer for you as loudly as you cheer for yourself. There are women who will support you without competing with you. This week, I was invited by the TD Jakes Foundation to attend an event in Martha’s Vineyard. I couldn’t go, and I was honestly disappointed…until I reread the email and realized I could send someone. “If God already worked this out, why am I wasting energy pretending I can fix it faster?” Look, this prayer is for the person up worrying… ⬇️⬇️ In the name of Jesus, I pray for the rest of the person reading this. God, I pray that you would give them rest. Not just for their body, but rest for their entire soul. I pray you give them peace—peace that calms their mind and slows their racing thoughts. I pray they get real, deep sleep tonight. REM sleep. The kind of sleep that only happens when you know it’s already in God’s hands. Even the things that feel too heavy to bear—remind them those weights were never theirs to carry in the first place. Remind them of your word which says in Proverbs 3:24 that when you lie down, you will not be afraid, and your sleep will be sweet. Remind them of your word which says in Philippians 4:6–7 to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make your requests known to God, and the peace of God will guard your heart and mind. God, let your peace fall on them tonight. I pray for the one grieving—hold them in their deep, deep hurt. I pray for the one who feels alone—wrap them in love. Remind them that you’re not a God who lies, teases, or torments. You protect. You provide. You prepare. I pray for discernment in their relationships—who to date, who to marry, who to release. Remind them of your word which says in James 1:5 that if we lack wisdom, we can ask and you give it freely. I pray for the mother up worrying about her child—cover that baby and give her peace. God, thank you for being consistent, even when we are not. Give us hearts ready to repent. Help us sit with you long enough to notice what needs to shift. And give us courage to act on what you show us. Remind us of your word which says in 2 Timothy 1:7 that you didn’t give us fear—you gave us power, love, and a sound mind. And if someone reading this doesn’t know you yet, Jesus, but wants to… Remind them of your word which says in Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
