This Week’s Story Thread: Unfiltered & Unbothered
Tell us a moment when you let go of trying to be perfect and how it felt. You can write it, voice note it, or drop a video clip. Let this be a space where we all get permission to be messy.

My "perfectionism" as my oldest child would say is cleaning and specifically for her, how she "cleans" her room. Being now 18, she is just a messy teenager and it drives me up the wall. I got so bad that I wanted her to clean her room a specific way, the order I would. Honestly, all it did was stress her, myself, and everyone in the house out. I got to a point where I did have to let it go. Understand that she isn't me and while I would like it to my standard of perfect, it's not hers a many others. I had to learn to settle and pick my battles. While boundaries had to be established (on both sides), it has helped ease my mind in the meantime of not worrying... like 80%. I am just waiting for her to move to college, be in the dorms, and be someone else's problem with cleanliness. 😂 It is what it is, right? At that point, her room will be deep cleaned and well organized!
