When do you let people read your writing?
I’m writing a fiction novel. I have the entire book outlined and 6 chapters written. I had my husband read the first two chapters just to make sure my tone and pacing seemed right. When do you usually have people read your work? As you write or wait until the end? I originally planned to wait until the end but then I found a plot hole and actually had to scrap a lot of work.

@Dani Rosenblad James this helps a lot! Nothing is a time crunch for me. Since it’s my first book, I wasn’t sure how close to the chest people hold their drafts. I would be pretty bummed to write the whole thing and then it not make any sense.
I finally started writing
I met with Dani for a one on one back in March. I signed a contract to have my manuscript ready by next March. I was excited to and then life happened. Fast forward to last week. I woke up from a dream with an idea. I ruminated over it for a while. And then I drafted an outline. Then a prologue. I'm now on Chapter 3! Where did this come from? I'm writing fiction. I guess it would be considered a mystery. I've done a bit of background work with my outline, notes, research, etc. Once I started the actual writing, I was excited to see words on the page. And now I realize that I have actually only written 6 pages of material. Should I worry about length at this point? Or do I just keep getting words on the page for now? Maybe I am not adding enough detail?

@Stefanie Z. We are probably overthinking at this stage. Sounds like something we would do!
Wanna Write a Sci-Fi Story?! 👽
Let’s work on creating a fun Sci-fi story together! write a sentence and then the next person will add to it! As it gets bigger, copy and paste what was there prior and then add your sentence! Let’s make something epic! Genre: Sci-Fi My stomach lurched backward along with my whole body as the old rickety spaceship went light speed.

My stomach lurched backward along with my whole body as the old rickety spaceship went light speed. The control board was flashing and beeping uncontrollably. What had I done?
What’s your Favorite Mystery Novel? 🤩
Tell us all about your favorite mystery novel! This isn’t a genre that I know so much about. But in Sweden, they love these kinds of books! 📚 So, do you have a favorite one? Tell me about it! Do a little summary so that we all understand the story inside and we can add it to our never ending book list! 😅

I love mystery/thrillers so I actually have a million recommendations. This is one I read really quickly because it was so good though. The Only One Left by Riley Sager 1929 Everyone assumes Lenora killed her entire family but the police can’t prove it. Since that night, she has never spoken about it or left the cliff side mansion where it happened. 1983 Kit is hired as a home health aide for Lenora after her previous aide fled in the night. Kit assumes Lenora is harmless because she is in a wheelchair and mute, but is she?
