A New Creative Space For Artists After Painter’s Hub Closes 🎨
Hello everybody, my name is Robbie Allen. I’m an artist from England, and also a very close friend of Samuel Earp. I wanted to make this post firstly to say thank you to Sam for everything he’s created here with Painter’s Hub over the years. Back in 2013/2014, Sam and I shared a studio together in Queenstown, New Zealand. He was actually the first person who ever took me oil painting outdoors and introduced me to plein air painting. I’ll always have a huge amount of gratitude and respect for him, not only as a painter and teacher, but also as a friend. So before anything else, if you’re considering joining Sam’s paid art school, I genuinely recommend it. Sam is an incredible landscape painter, a brilliant teacher, and somebody who truly cares about helping artists improve. If you’ve enjoyed this community, I think you’ll get a lot from continuing the journey with him there. At the same time, I know not everybody is in a position to join a paid community right now, and with Painter’s Hub closing, some of you may be looking for another creative space to continue sharing work, staying consistent, and connecting with other artists. Because of that, Sam kindly allowed me to share my own community here. My community is called The Artist’s Path, and it’s a free Skool community focused on drawing, painting, artistic growth, consistency, sketching practice, and creative momentum. One of the main things we do is a weekly live Sketching Hour, where artists from around the world come together to draw and sketch live together. Each week, I prepare a theme and reference material for people to work from, and it’s become a really enjoyable space for artists to build rhythm, practice consistently, and interact with each other creatively. The community is open to traditional and digital artists alike, whether you’re interested in landscapes, figure drawing, sketchbooks, painting, or simply wanting more consistency and encouragement around your art practice. If any of you are looking for another supportive creative space on Skool after Painter’s Hub closes, you’d be very welcome to join us.

Painters Hub is Closing This Week
Hey Artists This is my final post in Painters Hub. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I've decided to close this group. The billing cycle runs out in the next couple of days, so this is goodbye. It's been a good run, and I'm grateful to everyone who's been part of it. If you want to keep painting with me, check out live classes, a tutorial library, and a community of fellow landscape painters at Sam's Landscape Painting School. It's where I'm putting all my energy now. Whether you paint in oils, gouache, or acrylics, there's plenty there for you and more being added all the time. You can join here: https://go.samuelearp.com/landscape-painting-school Happy painting. Sam

This Community is Closing — Here's What's Next
Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know that I'll be closing this community shortly. I've been running this free community for over two years, and I'm grateful to everyone who's been part of it. Alongside this, I've been teaching inside Sam's Landscape Painting School, where a few months ago I extended the live painting classes to a full two hours every Monday NZ time (Sunday USA) on Zoom. Moving forward, I want to focus all my energy on Sam's Landscape Painting School and the students within it. If you've been thinking about joining, now is a great time — right now there's a FREE 7-day trial available until Monday 25th May. You can find out more here: https://go.samuelearp.com/landscape-painting-school If you've previously purchased any products or membership access through this group, I'll be reaching out to you personally with something special. Thanks for being part of this community. I hope to see some of you inside Sam's Landscape Painting School. Happy painting Sam

I Painted Exactly What I Saw...And it Didn't Work!
Hey Artists True story. Back in 2016 I was painting plein air at the side of Lake Hayes in Queenstown. A beautiful spot. I decided to make the willow trees the feature of the painting. When I finished, it looked completely flat. I couldn't figure out why. Then it hit me. The willows had no leaves. It was winter, and their bare twigs were so light in value that they just dissolved into the rest of the landscape. I'd painted exactly what was there, and it didn't work. That's when it clicked: what you see in nature doesn't always translate to canvas. Everything comes down to tonal values. Get those right and the painting reads. Get them wrong and no amount of colour mixing will save it. If you want to see how I apply this from the very first brushstroke, my Four Landscapes Video Bundle walks through four complete paintings from start to finish - mountains, fields, water, and trees, with values leading the way throughout. Just $19 USD with instant access. Grab it here: https://go.samuelearp.com/landscapes-video-bundle Has anyone else had a moment like this...where painting exactly what you saw just didn't work? Would love to hear your stories below. Happy painting Sam P.S. If you want to go deeper on this, this is exactly what I teach every Sunday inside Sam's Landscape Painting School: https://go.samuelearp.com/landscape-painting-school

37 Art Tips for a Successful Landscape Painting Journey
Hey Artists I put together a blog post a while back that I still think is one of the most useful things on my site, 37 landscape painting tips drawn from my own experience over the years. It covers everything from colour mixing and tonal values to composition and brushwork. If you're just getting started, it'll give you a solid foundation. If you've been painting for a while, you'll probably still find a few things worth thinking about. You can read it here: https://samuelearp.com/blog/landscape-painting-tips/ Happy painting, Sam P.S. If you want to go deeper on this with live weekly painting classes, take a look at Sam's Landscape Painting School here: https://go.samuelearp.com/landscape-painting-school
