@Phil White I love what you're doing! You see the value in being vitally alive. Woohoo! So many people seem to be suffering from learned helplessness and have given up on themselves before they try. To get 'em grooving (or moving), it seems helpful to point out the pain that's inevitable if they don't take action (aka, do nothing), like the broken hip surgery, diabetes, loss of independence, etc. Scaring them to get them to do something good for themselves sounds... well... terrible, but my sense is that's what your sedentary folks need (for now). Once they start moving, they'll remember the joy of feeling ALIVE and fantastic. It's just that now the suggestion of feeling great seems to make them angry (fight or flight). Since we all need healthy movement, maybe pick one group with one specific need and make an offer to them. Then, create a second offer for a second group with their own specific 'problem.' You might have 20 offers going in no time! LOTS of work to put together. It is probably way easier than trying to convince people that they are worth the effort and that they can do it if they DECIDE. Hope that helps. K
