Got some test done
Just got my results back from a fasting lab test and many others, everything is within range, but here is what I brought forth, some worries I have/had at the moment; increased appetite, I'll eat a nice full meal (good protein, carbs veggies) an hour later I'd be hungry again, I now have to eat until I am uncomfortably full to not get the hunger pains and hunger signals from my brain after 2 hours(yes I drink a shit ton of water when it feels like that cause maybe I'm thirsty..its never that). Bladder feels like it has shrunk, like constantly peeing, I am also always thirsty, like constantly so I drink more obviously I pee more, at work I lessen how much I drink but that does not lessen how often I need the bathroom. Also been dealing with weakness and numbness in my hands and feet🥲 Anyways all test came back "within range" so "normal" and I guess that means nothing is going to be done to help me deal with these symptoms. I'm going to be 25 this year, I've started working out again cause maybe that will help. I'm losing weight but my love handles or mid section or whatever look like is holding on to fat, I am constantly bloated. I'm scared and tired that this is just the live I will have to settle for. Never feeling good in my body, never feeling healthy or whole. Every time I look in the mirror I don't like what I see, I'm losing confidence in myself but I am also just exhausted (literally and figuratively cause my sleep sucks but has improved a fraction after starting ADHD meds). Any advice, or whatever is welcomed.

“In range” doesn’t mean there isn’t a problem if it’s not in a functionally optimal range! What was your fasting insulin? Did you have a full thyroid panel? Vitamin D?
Oura Ring
Anyone using an Oura Ring? I started wearing one in Feb and its really interesting to see the data that it collects.... esp stress response and sleep

Love it! I’ve had mine for almost 2 years and it is so helpful for cycle tracking, sleep and stress/recovery data
Learning a New Stage of Life
Hello, I’m Nadia. I’m a Caribbean woman living in the Northwest Georgia area. I saw a few post from Dr. Stephanie come on across my instagram feed that resonated with where I am at in this stage of life. I’m 47 and it seems like a switch flipped right at my 45th birthday and my body just was not the same. I didn’t feel the same. With that being said, I’m here to learn what happened and why so that I can pass down this wisdom to my daughters. I don’t have the luxury of information being passed to me. Within the next 90 days I want to be able to think clearly. Produce thoughts and not stumble on my words or feel at a loss for words. I could say weight loss but I just want to be functioning within optimal health.

I’m sure there are many pieces to dig into, but just here to say that going on a low dose estradiol patch was a game changer for me and cleared up the brain fog I had been struggling with for 2 years after my last postpartum literally within days of starting. My doctor didn’t think it would be a solution since I’m only 36 and I still need to do the work to figure out why my estrogen is low, but it clearly was the problem and had an easy solution for at least the most annoying symptoms (brain fog, itchy ear canals, thinning skin, eyes struggling to adjust in the dark, heavy, clotty periods). Absolutely worth talking to your doctor about!

@Nadia Stocks praying you find some direction soon!
Hyperthyroidism
Hello, I am 42 and 4 months postpartum. I was recently hospitalized with tachycardia and was found to have hyperthyroidism, likely Graves’ disease, as I have high Thyrotropin Receptor Ab and high Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin. I’ve been put. on medication, but what dietary changes are recommended? Thanks so much (new to this community)

Isn’t it so annoying how postpartum triggers autoimmune flares?! I had the same happen with Hashimoto’s after my second baby and another flare after my third! Definitely no gluten and likely no dairy (you’ll have to do an elimination diet to see if your body tolerates dairy). Check out Izabella Wentz Thyroid Pharmacist and Dr. Josh Redd for specific thyroid suggestions. They’re great resources! Medicine unfortunately doesn’t address the root cause of autoimmune thyroid issues so you’ll have to do some digging to figure out what triggers you’re dealing with (clearly nutrient depletion and lack of sleep with a 4 month old, but there’s likely some others than you can actively be addressing too). Praying for answers and some progress for you soon!
