What do you hope to get out of this community?
Seriously, what do you hope to get out of this community? This space was built to support you through the ups and downs of career transitions. But I don’t want it to just be my vision — I want it to reflect your needs, challenges, and goals. What do you most hope to find here? - Encouragement and accountability? - Networking and referrals? - Tools and resources to land your next role? - A safe place to share your story? - Group masterminds to learn and grow together? Your answers will help shape how we grow, what resources we create, and how we support one another. This isn’t just my community — it’s our community. Because we're all in this together! So, what do you hope to get out of the Flo Career Support Community?
Nerves Are Optional
Most professionals think the key to crushing interviews, presentations, or networking is to power through the nerves. I’ve seen the opposite. The people who show up with a calm presence instead of frantic preparation usually make the strongest impression. Because nerves aren’t caused by the event. They’re caused by the story you’re telling yourself about the event. You’re not afraid of the presentation. You’re afraid of bombing. You’re not anxious about the interview. You’re anxious about being judged. You’re not nervous to network. You’re nervous you won’t feel enough. But here’s the truth: The body only follows the mind’s lead. And the mind panics when you fixate on outcomes you can’t control. That’s why nerves spike right before it matters most. So let me bust a myth: Confidence doesn’t come from being the smartest person in the room.It comes from mastering your state on command. Want to change your state? Try this samurai mantra: “I expect nothing. I can handle anything.” Say it. Breathe it. Believe it. Then walk into the room like you already belong there. Because you do. Here’s the formula I give clients: • Breathe slow. Exhale longer than you inhale. • Look slightly above eye level and fix your gaze. • Drop the outcome. Focus only on presence. • Use your mantra. Repeat until calm. • Then go share, not perform. Don’t try to win the room. Just be in it. Presence > Perfection. And when you lead with presence, Your voice settles. Your mind clears. Your story lands. That’s when they say: “I don’t know what it was… but something about you just clicked.” Because confidence isn’t something you build. It’s something you release once you stop trying so hard to impress. Rooting for you, Kris

Welcome to the Flō Career Collective: For People Rethinking Work - You made it—and we’re so glad you’re here. This community exists for one reason: To remind you that you’re not alone in rethinking your career, your purpose, or how you want to spend your workdays. Whether you’re: - Feeling stuck or burned out - Exploring a new direction - Between roles and questioning what’s next - Or just quietly thinking, “There has to be more than this...” You belong here. Your First Step: Introduce Yourself Below We’d love to get to know you. When you’re ready, hit “Reply” and share: - Where are you based? - What’s your career story? Where have you been, where are you now, and where are you going? The good, the bad, and the ugly, the funny - because we're keeping it real! - Are you in a transition, job search, or just exploring? - What’s one thing you’re hoping to get from this community? - Share your favorite work GIF. Bonus Challenge: Show Us Where You Work From. Whether it's a home office, coffee shop, living room couch, or kitchen table... Drop a photo of your current workspace. Messy, beautiful, chaotic, we want real, not curated. Why This Matters This isn’t some performative networking space. It’s a place to be seen and heard. We’re not here to impress each other; we’re here to lift each other up. The more you share, the more others feel safe to do the same. So don’t overthink it. Just show up as you are. Welcome to the Flō Career Collective. Let’s do this. 💪🌊

👋 Hey everyone, I’m Kris — the person behind the Flō Career Collective and Flō Coaching. I spent 25 years advancing through leadership roles in a single industry. On paper, it looked like success. But inside, I was burned out. The company’s values had shifted, and mine no longer aligned with them. I didn’t want my boss’s job, I felt undervalued, and I was struggling with leadership challenges while quietly wondering what I even wanted to be “when I grew up.” Leaving wasn’t graceful. I just quit, and admittedly, I still have regrets about how I left. I then went on a 9-month job search (learned a ton about job searching). I jumped into a new industry where I didn’t speak the language, didn’t connect with the culture, and ended up working for a narcissistic boss in a toxic, stress-filled environment. My health started to suffer, and eventually, I walked away again — this time with the help of a coach who helped me finally understand what I truly wanted. That’s what brought me here. Today, I work as a career and executive coach, helping people like my younger self — mid- to later-career professionals rethinking what’s next, and leaders navigating challenges they don’t have to face alone. My mission is simple: to create positive ripples in the world by helping people create fulfilling, resilient, and successful careers. I started this community because I kept hearing the same thing from clients: “It feels lonely out here.” Career transitions, leadership struggles, and even just questioning the work you’re doing can feel isolating. My hope is that this space reminds you that you’re not alone, provides resources and support, and perhaps even offers a sense of career peace in our fast-changing world. On a lighter note: sometimes when I’m dog-sitting, I set their bed on my desk so they can watch “squirrel TV” out the window. I also take naps almost every day, I have a dark chocolate problem, and as an athlete, I’m a total geek about health, nutrition, and performance. Excited to hear your stories — where you’ve been, where you’re headed, and what you’re rethinking right now.
