Day 3 Lesson 3– Your Kingdom Come (Surrender Control)
As I reflect on this, Matthew 23 really brings it into focus. Jesus speaks about outward appearances versus what’s truly happening in the heart. It made me realize that sometimes the areas I try to control are the very places I want to appear “right” or “together,” instead of fully surrendering them to God. Control can look like having everything in order on the outside… but still holding onto things on the inside. What God is showing me is this: He’s not asking for perfection—He’s asking for surrender. The areas I hold onto are often tied to pride, fear, or the need to manage things myself instead of trusting Him fully. What area am I holding onto? The places where I’m trying to keep control instead of letting Him truly lead. And today, I’m choosing to release that. “Lord, not just my words—but my heart. Not just what’s seen—but what’s hidden. I surrender it to You.” In Jesus’ name, amen.

"I guess I only fooled myself, / For I said I'd yielded all, / But in a secret corner of my heart / Was a kingdom that did not fall. / I surrender now. / Make my heart Your throne. / Rule its kingdoms great and small, / For if You're not Lord of everything, / Then You're not Lord at all." -- Verse 2 of "Jesus Be the Lord of All," by Lanny Wolfe. (Even though I don't endorse his past actions or present doctrine, he's written some amazing songs, including this one.) It's easy to trick ourselves into thinking we've surrendered all to Jesus. It's important to ask Him to show us any and all areas that may not be surrendered, and then to listen for His answer. Thank you for your post, @Charlene Tucker, as a great reminder of our need for true and total surrender

@Beth Kelley amen, and well said. Remember, Rachel was pretty, but Jesus came from Leah's side of the family
