@Monica Flores since I am unable to visualize things, and actually have a hard time focusing and reading (also applies to books), I am slow when it comes to reading. Not visualizing things means also that I don't keep the patterns in my head. Without the bad memory issue, memorizing would be of help after struggling to read. However, not only does it not stay well in memory, but also it goes away after some time not playing the same piece. Muscle memory helps a bit when a piece has been played hundreds of times, but I still struggle to be precise. I think consistency is the only solution. I assume that I will eventually get fast at reading if I keep at it. At least for simple sheet music... The ultimate goal would be to achieve sight reading, which would then mean no need to rely on my sloppy memory anymore.
