Are Backlinks Still the Shortcut to Rankings in 2025?
Sometimes it feels like Google is changing every other week… but one thing I keep testing is backlinks. Even now, the right backlink can move a page faster than months of just waiting for Google. What’s your take are backlinks still the fastest way to push rankings, or have you seen other signals work better lately?

I’d say backlinks are still one of the fastest levers to move rankings, but the type of backlink matters more than ever. A handful of relevant, high-authority links can push a page quicker than months of on-page tweaks. That said, I’ve also noticed Google rewarding signals like brand mentions, topical authority, and strong internal linking more than before. So yes, backlinks work, but they work best when paired with solid content and a clear topical footprint.
Backlinks or Content What’s the Real Game Changer?
I’ve seen sites with great content struggle because they lack backlinks… and I’ve also seen average content rank just because it had the right links. In your experience, which one makes the bigger difference content or backlinks?

In my experience there’s definitely a correlation — the higher-ranking sites almost always have stronger backlink profiles. Content is the foundation (without it links won’t stick), but backlinks are what give that content the authority to compete. I’ve seen great content sit invisible until it picked up quality links, and average content jump simply because of the right backlinks. Ideally, you need both, but if I had to pick the bigger short-term ranking lever, backlinks usually move the needle faster. Is
Hello everyone
I help businesses get found online and grow. Websites: Build clean, professional sites (Wix & Wix Studio). SEO: Get businesses ranking on Google. Local Marketing: Optimize Google Business Profiles & social media. Automation: Set up chatbots, email flows, and integrations. I work with local companies like hotels, restaurants, plumbers, movers, and HVAC pros—helping them attract more customers and save time.

@Sean Markey I’ve done a lot of SEO on WordPress and other platforms, and the process is pretty similar overall. The main differences are site speed and add-ons. Wix is an all-in-one platform, while WordPress relies on plugins like Elementor to build and customize.
Small Backlinks, Big Impact?
Ever noticed how a single backlink from the right site can sometimes outperform dozens of low-quality links? It’s not always about DR or volume relevance and real traffic matter way more. Curious to hear from you all Do you focus more on quality or quantity when building links?

I try to focus on back link for relevance first, like industry listing, bussiness Registries, then niche specific. Depending on how competitive the niche is.
Why Backlinks Still Matter in 2025 🚀
Many SEOs say “backlinks are dead” – but the truth is, Google still considers high-quality backlinks as a top ranking factor. 👉 What’s your honest opinion: Do backlinks still move the needle for your websites in 2025?

Curious — has anyone tested whether brand mentions alone (without a link) on a high-traffic, niche-relevant site moved the needle for them? I’m seeing early signs it does. For example if people mention you on Reddit with out link.
