Hi all, I'm Kira and I'm very excited to join this group! I'm a former gymnast - it's many years behind me, but I'd love to get some of those skills back eventually. My main priority is to strengthen my muscles and stabilize my joints, since I deal with joint pain from 12+ years of working long shifts on my feet and genetic hypermobility issues, as well as recovering from some injuries as an adult. Once I've got a solid foundation I think the first skill I'd like to master again is my handstand!

@Brandon Beauchesne-Hebert Thanks Brandon, this seems like such a great community and I'm excited to learn from you! I've worked as a chef for the past decade or so, and recently stepped back from the kitchen work to let my body recover. I still deal with some pain in my wrists and knees from overuse of these joints, so that's where I'm trying to focus my mobility and gradual strength training first.
Any other bendy bodies?
Hi all! I've been curious about calisthenics for a while and recently stumbled across this community. I'm hypermobile and have only recently realised how this is a problem that I should address. I don't need to learn the crazy calisthenics stuff but I'd love to have a body that I can trust in and continue to play with, for a long time to come. I'd love to hear how this program is going for other newbies and if other bendy people are having success here!

I'm brand new to the community and dealing with hypermobility also! It was fun when I was younger and flexibility came so easily to me, but now that I'm getting older I've learned about all the joint pain and posture issues it can cause. My main goal is to strengthen my muscles surrounding my joints to stabilize and protect them, and then work on building all the impressive calisthenics skills from there.
