What I Learned as a New Dispatcher: Mistakes, Growth & Real Goals
Hi guys, Though there are already a lot of experienced people helping others in this group, I thought to share my part too! I started scrolling through this community a couple of weeks ago. One thing that really stood out to me is how many people mention their income targets, for example “I want to make $8,000 per month!” Seeing these "target posts" made me stop and think, am I missing something? Why have I never thought of aiming that high? Right now, I'm revolving around $1K to $2K per month. To my fellow beginners: I took some time to reflect and realized yes, we can make that much, but it’s not going to happen overnight. It’ll take time, effort, and consistency. You need to stay committed and work honestly. You’ll make mistakes. You’ll mishandle leads. You might even lose clients, and it’ll hurt because you’ll feel like your hard work didn’t pay off. But here’s the thing: that’s all part of the journey. Before you even think of signing clients, make sure you’re fully prepared. Know the dispatch process inside and out. If you land a client but don’t actually know what you're doing, you might end up losing them, and it’ll feel like your effort went to waste. But the truth is, the mistake was on your side. So here’s my advice: 📌 Learn first, then start. 📌 Build your skills until you’re confident. 📌 Be consistent. Stay focused. In short: To reach the income level you’re aiming for, you have to start from scratch and work your way up. And next time you see someone posting about big monthly targets, don’t let it shake you. Just keep reminding yourself: you have your own goals. Work hard until you succeed. 💪

First Time Here
Hello everybody. I'm Michael I've been driving class A for over eight years. I lost my trucking business because the truck was a lemon a mechanic lied to me and tried to fix it, and still breaks down. Just got out of the truck loan. I'm here to see if there's an opportunity here to try again or go to a different path with dispatching, or etc.

🎉 Here’s How I Secured a Carrier Through Cold Calling!
Hey everyone! I joined this community a few weeks ago with a goal of making $5,000 to $10,000 per month from dispatching trucks in mind. (introduction post) After completing the free training, I started engaging with people here who have more experience than me. (that is what every beginner should have to do) So that I can learn valuable lessons from their experiences which will help me get started in this industry. And that's exactly what I got!! A lot of value!!😇 One of the biggest steps I took was diving into cold calling. But with the guidance of some incredible mentors here, I took the leap and started cold calling for my childhood best friend’s company. You can check out my earlier post where I asked for advice on cold calling openings: 📞 I need an advice on my Cold Calling Opening... After applying their advice on cold calling, I improved myself a lot, and guess what? I closed a carrier within my first week!!🎉 I want to clarify that I never done cold calling in my entire life. Guys do your daily tasks, work hard, nothing is impossible. Believe in yourself. This win was a huge confidence booster and proof that hard work and consistency pay off. If I can do it, so can you! A few key takeaways from my journey so far: 1️⃣ Engage with experienced people - their advice is pure gold. 2️⃣ Take action daily - progress compounds over time. 3️⃣ Believe in yourself - you’re capable of more than you think. Thank you very much @Gurpreet Gill for making this amazing community. ❤️ Thank you @Syed Abbas @Laura Benne @Gurpreet Gill for guiding me through. A lot of respect. ❤️ I’m beyond excited for what’s ahead. This year, I’m crushing my goals and building a life I’m proud of. Let’s go! 💪 Here’s to our success! 🚀
