This is awesome! So if I understand this all correctly, Critique Club is back to 3rd Saturdays?

@Felicia Forte ok - thanks!! I did see that in the calendar - just wanted to build mine out a bit further. I often teach on 3rd Thursdays, and changed that when you added critiques, but then changed back last month when it got pushed out :) I'll keep my eye on the classroom calendar going forward! I so appreciate and value everything in this space.
In a meditation:
I just had a vision: I'm in a school, there's a double door open to a stairwell with a red handrail. Stairs going down. Then the Skool logo flashed. Also the red handrail seems like the logo. I think it's "go deeper here" Interesting. I'll have to feel out how

I'm curious to hear more of what you decipher.....
Stuart Shils 2 value exercise (relative to our 4-4 CC discussion on thumbnails and value structure)
We worked with black paper, white paper, white tape, scotch tape, and a black and white crayon. We built these notan designs from a life setting, exploring how shifting the overall shapes inside the setting itself impacted the feel of the piece. It's been years - I'd forgotten about this exercise. I am going to do a number of these from the Sky Bear paintings I've been making as a way to better understand their design and what might be holding me back from a more fluid and interesting approach.

Accountability post 4-4 CC meeting
I will tackle these 2 limiting beliefs further: adding black to my palette and eliminating a good percentage of my midtones (color) as I explore value centric relationships and an embrace of thumbnails as a means to explore design aspects at the onset and crossroads of my intuitive works. Here is what I'm currently working on - she's acrylic - and my current goal is to add more warmth into my focal point as well as fully push into the darks (my darks feel a little timid and too chromatic right now - actually, the whole painting is too chromatic).
