🌎 The 7-Day Public Dance Journey (Day 1)
Ever wondered what it would feel like to dance in public, fully seen, with no hiding? That’s exactly what I’m testing in this new challenge. For the next 7 days, I’m dancing outside in public spaces—no stage, no studio, just me, the music, and whoever happens to be around. The goal? To push past fear and step into confidence, freedom, and joy in front of others. For Day 1, I chose “Lucky” by Luchane. It’s a Britney Spears cover, and Britney’s ballads were a huge part of my childhood. But Luchane’s voice lifts the song into something soulful and raw, pulling out emotions in a whole new way. It also connects me to the sounds I grew up with from my grandma—jazz, soul, gospel, blues. Those sounds feel like home. Here’s the twist: it’s also the hardest style for me to express. It demands vulnerability and technicality, which always scared me as a hip-hop dancer first. But I leaned in. And freestyling outside with that song reminded me why this journey matters—it’s not about perfection, it’s about showing up. Learning to settle in the fear instead of running from it. ✨ Your Turn If you had to pick one song that feels like “home” for you, what would it be? Drop it in the comments ⬇️ (And if you’re brave, take it outside and dance to it this week!)

Starting Day 1 with Lucky reminded me how powerful it is to move to music that feels like home, even when it’s scary to put it out there. I’d love to know—what’s a “home” song for you?
🌀 Fighting Harder Isn’t Always the Answer
Remember those little finger traps from childhood? The more you pulled, the tighter they squeezed. The trick was to lean in, relax, and suddenly—freedom. Life works the same way. Anxiety. Money pressure. Even dance plateaus. I’ve learned the more I thrash against the problem, the more stuck I feel. But when I soften and lean in, I usually find the way out quicker. ✨ Practice This Next time you feel stuck—whether it’s training, choreography, or life—pause. Breathe. Instead of pulling away, lean into the discomfort just a little. Notice how it shifts. Inside Core, this is the kind of mindset work we tie directly into movement—because training the mind is as important as training the body. Drop a comment: Where do you feel yourself fighting the hardest right now?

I find it the hardest to freestyle in an authentic way in front of others.
Practicing Rhythm & Bounce (Dead Stops + Texture Play)
Here’s me working through the Rhythm & Bounce drill I dropped for you last week. I broke it into layers so you can see how I train it: 🟢 0:00–0:13 Dead stops, squeezing elbows and knees just for a split second to freeze the movement before continuing. 🟢 0:14–1:00 Using the drill structure from the free video, head, shoulders, then hips. The goal is to stop everything physically andvisually for a beat, then flow back into the bounces. 🟢 1:01–1:47 This one was tough, instead of a stop, I switched the texture of the bounce. After an isolation (say, the head), I’d roll into a smooth “jack” up, then return to bounce until the next isolation. It’s harder than it looks, but worth it. The point isn’t perfection, it’s training your body to feel rhythm in different ways and make those choices intentional. ✨ If this feels challenging, that’s the whole idea. Inside Core, we go way deeper with textures, drills, and coaching to help you break through these exact walls. ➡️ Keep practicing. Drop a comment with what part of this drill challenged you most.

I'd like to see someone try the "jack" version at the end :)
🌀 When You Finish, You Flow
Y’all ever feel like you’re not moving forward… like nothing’s really happening? That’s been me lately. I kept thinking it was because there weren’t enough opportunities in front of me. But then I realized—nah… it’s because I’ve got a bunch of unfinished stuff just sitting there. And the wild part? I can see it in my dancing too. • Routines I never fully learned • Drills I know would help but never finished • Classes I skipped • Even just studying choreo like I used to when I was a kid It’s so easy to chase the new thing. But honestly, the flow usually shows up when we finish the old things. The stuff that’s been waiting on us. That’s been my shift this week. And already, it feels lighter. Clearer. Like my body and my brain can finally move again. ✨ Try This Pick one thing you’ve been avoiding and finish it today. Could be dance, could be life. Doesn’t matter. Drop in the comments what you’re wrapping up. I’ll share mine too.

I am currently working on learning the dances I’ve been inspired by when scrolling IG. There are some out there that I know will teach me something I can use for my own creativity.

Facts Sandra. 🙌 Most dancers live in their head when the choreo gets tough. That’s why intention feels so hard. It’s not about more steps, it’s about fewer decisions. The more you train textures and power placement, the more freedom you have to actually be in the move instead of overthinking it. That’s where presence comes alive. Practice tip: Take a combo you already know and dance it once ‘thinking the steps,’ then again where your only focus is on intention (where the movement starts and the story you’re telling). Film both. You’ll see the difference immediately. This is exactly what we break down inside The Dancer’s Blueprint - Core (textures + power + retention). Keep going you got this and closer than you think.

@Lonni Silver-Moore Lonni this is a powerful discovery 🙌. Becoming aware that control comes from breath instead of tension is a huge step most dancers never make. Keep leaning into that awareness. Textures will only keep opening up for you.

I’ve been a dancer for a long time but have realized the limitations of my practice. Looking for something to help me reach a new level of mobility.
