Supporting Two Real Estate Clients for Only $3/Hour Each — Is It Time to Move On? 🥹
Hi guys! I’m Justin, and I’ve been working as a Real Estate VA for almost 3 years. I previously applied through an agency and got assigned to a realtor client. I started working with them last October, and little did I know that I wasn’t going to be supporting just one realtor, but two—for a total salary of only $6/hour. So basically, that’s around $3/hour per agent. At that time, I really needed a job, so I decided to accept the offer without fully realizing what I was getting myself into. Fast forward to now, I’ve been doing pretty much EVERYTHING—TC, EA tasks, SMM, listings, staging, and other admin work. The challenging part is that I’m supporting two realtors who sometimes give me tasks at the same time, and their priorities can overlap. There are also days when the workload is lighter, which is probably one of the reasons I’ve managed to stay for almost a year. But honestly, my heart is telling me that it’s time to look for a new client—someone who sees my value, pays fairly, and allows me to set healthy boundaries without feeling guilty. The only thing holding me back is fear. What if I don’t find another client? What if my next client ends up being even worse? 😭 I’d really appreciate any advice from fellow VAs, especially those who have gone through something similar. How did you know when it was time to move on, and how did you prepare yourself for your next client? P.S. This is also one of the reasons I joined this community—to learn, upskill, connect with other people in the industry, and hopefully grow as a Real Estate VA. ❤️

Justin, THIS WAS MY EXACT SAME SITUATION until I decided to resign last June. I've been with her for 3 years. We started as a team, I knew that--but like you, over time, the workload just felt unreasonable. Maybe it really is after 3 years na ma reach natin yung boundaries natin. I was unhealthy and I was always sick and even though wala akong backup plan, I decided to resign because di ko na kaya. That's when I started really thinking about who I want to be as a person. Then luckily, while I was rendering for her pa, I saw that job posting for Operations Director for a Real Estate Team. It really resonated withme. Everything they said there in the job description, I was already doing. But when this new client hired me, I had authority. He was respectful. AND I WAS DOING WAY LESS WORK. And I wasnt guilty na kapag 3 hours lang tapos na ako sa work. Dati na gguilty ako katulad mo kasi may days na matumal. But that is not our fault. You deserve way better than that, Justin!

@Justin Aeriel Salvador grabe yung anxiety and stress mo ngayon I know 😢 I hope the force multiplier course gives you clarity and confidence to leave the disrespectful situation you are in right now. I built that course EXACTLY to prevent this kind of situation for you guys kasi sobrang same tayo ng pinag daanan before huhu

Hi guys! HOW DID YOU DECIDE WHAT NICHE YOU'LL LOCK IN ON? Did you know I positioned myself as a General VA for 3 years? I did work with realtors the whole time, but I was still trying to find clients outside of that niche. Because of that, I ended up working with a company that pays $4 an hour as a cold caller. I worked for a week and HE DIDN'T PAY ME! Earlier this year, I thought that maybe I was selling my skills to the wrong people. Hell, I wasn't even good at communications let alone cold calling. I really just wanted an extra income. SO I THOUGHT I've been working with realtors for 3 years now, why haven't I thought that this is my specialization? Because I wanted to get all the jobs out there. We know how tough the market can be. SOOO this is your time to reflect. If you need help niching down, I have a questonnaire that I took to really find out what I like doing and what my specialization is. Let me know if you want me to upload it!
