Hi guys! I’m Justin, and I’ve been working as a Real Estate VA for almost 3 years. I previously applied through an agency and got assigned to a realtor client. I started working with them last October, and little did I know that I wasn’t going to be supporting just one realtor, but two—for a total salary of only $6/hour. So basically, that’s around $3/hour per agent. At that time, I really needed a job, so I decided to accept the offer without fully realizing what I was getting myself into. Fast forward to now, I’ve been doing pretty much EVERYTHING—TC, EA tasks, SMM, listings, staging, and other admin work. The challenging part is that I’m supporting two realtors who sometimes give me tasks at the same time, and their priorities can overlap. There are also days when the workload is lighter, which is probably one of the reasons I’ve managed to stay for almost a year. But honestly, my heart is telling me that it’s time to look for a new client—someone who sees my value, pays fairly, and allows me to set healthy boundaries without feeling guilty. The only thing holding me back is fear. What if I don’t find another client? What if my next client ends up being even worse? 😭 I’d really appreciate any advice from fellow VAs, especially those who have gone through something similar. How did you know when it was time to move on, and how did you prepare yourself for your next client? P.S. This is also one of the reasons I joined this community—to learn, upskill, connect with other people in the industry, and hopefully grow as a Real Estate VA. ❤️
