Forge Tribe Podcast – Send Your Questions
My heart feels very tender before God right now. The messages, reflections, and conversations coming out of the Crucible have meant a lot to read. It’s clear God is moving in the lives of many of you, and I’m grateful to be walking through this together. Right now there are about 130 men across 5 continents going through the Crucible. Next week we’re recording a Forge Tribe Podcast episode with Pete Stone (who wrote the devotionals) and John Thompson (who’s been writing the newsletters). Instead of us just talking, we want to bring your questions into the conversation. If you’re going through the Crucible, send us what’s on your mind: • Reflections from the readings • Things that challenged you • Parts that confused you • Where you're wrestling to apply it in real life • Anything you'd like Pete and John to unpack further You can post your question here on the wall or DM me directly if you'd rather keep it private. We’ll work to get as many of the questions answered as we can in the podcast. And yes… this was John’s last cinnamon roll before the Crucible. A small but meaningful sacrifice for the cause. — Joe

I’d love to know exactly how or when do you know for certain that you have turned everything over to god? Like is there a feeling that overwhelms you do you feel at peace with everything? Can you feel the weight lifted? Sometimes I feel like I have given my burden to the lord fully but how can I be sure?
Welcome all!
Hey everyone my names Kevin. I am a police officer in small town Kentucky, member of the Army National Guard for 13 years, and a father and husband. I restarted my Christian journey about a year ago after my wife and I had marital issues. I am still growing in Christ and learning everyday. Excited for this journey with amazing brothers and open honest discussion for men! Welcome to Forge Tribe let’s dive in!
🙏 THIS WEEK’S HABIT: PRAYING ONE PSALM A DAY
This week, our focus is forming consistency in prayer by letting Scripture shape our words, specifically through the Psalms. The weekly task is simple and repeatable: ✅ The Daily Practice Each day this week: 1. Choose one Psalm (any Psalm, you decide). 2. Pray it slowly, verse by verse, using the method described by Tim Keller on page 255 of his book on Prayer. 3. Move through the Psalm this way: Scripture first, then prayer. That’s it. I will throw an example based on Keller’s description in the comment section. ⏱️ How This Fits Into Your Prayer Rhythm Aim for ~30 minutes daily focused prayer (including meditation on scripture, free prayer, and silence). Continue praying briefly: - Upon waking - Before meals - Before beginning work - Before sleep 🚨If you are struggling with these habits, take this week to reset and just focus on praying one Psalm a day along with our group. 📝 Reflection (Optional but Powerful) As you go: - Journal what the Psalm teaches you about God - Journal what it reveals about you - Note how your thoughts and emotions shift before, during, and after prayer 💬 DAILY ACCOUNTABILITY (This Is Key) Each day, comment in this thread with the Psalm you prayed. - Minimum requirement: 👉 Just post the Psalm number (e.g., Psalm 27) - Optional (encouraged): What stood out, What you prayed, Why that Psalm mattered today This isn’t about depth competitions. It’s about showing up daily and encouraging one another by example. 🔎 Formation Questions to Keep in Mind - How do the Psalms give language to both joy and lament? - Which Psalm best reflects where you are spiritually right now? - How do the Psalms train emotional honesty before God? Let’s flood this thread daily with Psalms. 📖 Drop today’s Psalm below.

Psalm 28 “O lord you are my rock of safety. Please help me; don’t refuse to answer me. For if you are silent, I might as well give up and die.” Lord through every tough time and turbulent part of my life you are there for me steadfast and unmoving. Please hear me now as I call out to you in need , do not fall silent in my hour of need now. If you who have always been there for me in the past do not hear me now then what is the point of going on lord.

Psalm 34 10: Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry. But those who trust in the lord will never lack any good thing. Even the strongest of us men will lack what is needed to sustain us if we do not trust in the lord. If we trust in the lord and praise him we will have all the things we need to live a good life.
