I deployed an AI employee on my own business before selling any automations. 2-week numbers
Most of us here build automations for clients. I did the opposite first: I put one AI employee to work on my own lead-gen operation so I'd have real numbers before anyone paid me. The job: inbound lead follow-up. Every inquiry from Facebook groups and website forms gets answered in under three minutes, any hour. The assistant asks two qualifying questions, books the call and follows up on a schedule until someone answers. Two weeks in: 147 follow-ups handled, zero conversations lost to silence, response time down from hours to minutes. It paid for itself in the first week on a single roofing lead that would have gone cold. What I learned building it: the hard part was never the model. It was writing the job description tightly enough that the assistant didn't improvise its way into promising things the business can't deliver. Ask me anything about the setup.

Dropped the exact job description I wrote for my AI employee (the part that keeps it from improvising its way into over-promising): https://wajo.ai/s/478903107f03646d0bb05e50ddc7fcfa — Comment FO and I'll walk you through the setup.
