3 contributions to Math as a Creative Force
Working Professionals that Teach Their Craft
Any interesting perspective from our newest podcast with Jason Zook. In CTE, watching a Chef "teach their craft". Would love to hear peoples thoughts on how a core content teacher, like math or science, can model more of teaching their craft as part of the classroom discourse and why/what might limit them from doing that.

Absolutely true, i was a sheetmetal worker 15. Had to cut fold weld at precise measurements. At 16, i made air con ducting, that was installed in the surgery at a hospital, air force base and 4 seasons buildings. Math is awesome. I quit at 17 and attended the australian ballet school. From then on, I only had to count to 8

@Kevin Berkopes good question . Certainly made my personality different, tougher than the rest. I later concenrated on choreography, which is a fabrication also. But my new friends couldnt build a house together
Grow Skillful Educators Locally
Investing in our community means empowering local people to become teachers. This is from our recent podcast with Pam Griffin. Tapping them on the shoulder and supporting their growth creates skilled, committed educators who level up instruction. #CommunityInvestment #TeacherDevelopment #EducationStrategy #LocalTalent #Empowerment #SchoolDistrict #InvestInPeople #FutureEducators

@Kevin Berkopes i think we are teachers at heart, earth. But if we have to give our children away to a stranger we are crap teachers /parents. Having said that i am very fortunate to be in this place of sharing giving teaching. 2nd part, village raises the kid, and the kid raises the village.(My additive) In our black fella paintings they are full of circles and lines to each other. The circles are water holes or communities. The lines are your path to other water holes. When you travel you represent the circle you come from. Everyone teaches, everyone represents. So my name would be gudigal kev, where i was born and what mum called me. With this respect for elders or teachers becomes stronger. My older black mates are trying to get the young ones back to this mode Kind of like what shes saying.

Giving away the Coherence Studio-- an opening of 5 spots to work directly with me directly
Hey everyone: I want to share two things with this community at once, because they belong together First: We are giving the coherence studio away. The full Coherence Studio is open. The narrative diagnostic, the workspaces, the Concept Story studio-- all of it. You can register a school or district leader account here and walk in: → https://mti-transformation.app/register/leader Second: I'm opening a limited cohort of 5 districts to work directly with me. This is different from using the platform on your own. This is a partnership in which I work alongside you and your faculty on the sensemaking framework I built — a faculty transformation architecture designed to help schools directly attend to their MTSS tiers and to the coherence (or fragmentation) of mathematics teaching across those tiers and classrooms. If you've ever felt that your tiered intervention system is doing engineering work without architectural coherence — strong programs, strong people, but the math story doesn't hold together from Tier 1 to Tier 3, from grade to grade, from teacher to teacher — that's the gap this cohort is built around. Five districts. Direct work with me. We'll move through the full transformation arc together: signals → metaphor shift → concept selection → concept-story authorship → stewardship. How to express interest: Reply here or DM me. Tell me a little about your district and where you think the mathematical coherence is most overdue. I'll set up a conversation from there. The tools are yours either way. The cohort is the rare thing.
