Group Updates
After much thought (and a lot of coffee), we’ve decided to close this online community group. Why? Because we believe we’ve found a better, simpler, and more real-time way to connect with you — live Q&A sessions via Zoom! We’re so excited about this new direction. Think of it as trading a message board for a conversation — where your questions get answers right then and there. We’ll be sharing all the details — including Zoom links and session dates — on our website starting May 10th, so be sure to check it out. Thank you for being part of this group and helping it grow. Ahmed, I very much appreciate your comment and I am looking forward to having you in the live sessions. As we have grown and so many more people have come to get advice which I absolutely love, these live sessions will be better to connecting with everyone on a more personal level. :-)

@Kim Wells Thank you Kim, and please do not be sad. I have to admit, we had all the best intentions with this group but it seemed distant from our team and then difficult for us to keep up and service. We have brought on a whole new team that is excited to come join me on the videos and they are all so talented in different topics. I think we are about to bring you a lot more and better content :-) I appreciate every single person that has every watched my videos. When I first started only my mom and grandma watched, and they liked and commented and I said Grandma it will help more people find the videos because people need help with this HA! We still talk about it. I am very excited to see The Material Bar grow and see the next chapter!

Questions about my future kitchen
Hi Kerstin, The attached is my kitchen design picture, what is your recommendation for the island size and the space between the island and refrigerator and stove. Thanks a lot.

Hi @Emily Solovy I would make sure you have at least 39" or 42" walkways. The walkway in front of the refrigerator may even be bumped up to 45". The size of your island will be the result after deducting the walkway dimensions. Does that make sense?

Wishing everyone a great week and sending a friendly reminder that we can help with cabinet needs in every category across the US! We just delivered a kitchen project to Las Vegas last week. 5 Year Protection Plans
I'm buying RTA cabinets and have been offered an additonal 5 year accident protection and replacement plan through Guardian that covers door breakage, scratches, water damage, etc. Is this worth the extra $400-$500?

Ouff that's a tough one. The most common issues are finish issues I would check if it also covers that part.
