Honestly, not what I want to do but I have done this before and it has worked in the past. PROBLEM: People in Ithaca need help moving or getting rid of furniture but don’t have the time, help, or vehicle to do it. WHO PAYS: Cornell/Ithaca College students moving in/out of apartments and local residents who bought/sold furniture on Facebook Marketplace. SOLUTION: I show up the same day and move, haul, or dump their items for a flat $50–$100. FIRST MOVE: Message people on Facebook Marketplace who posted “need help moving” or “free furniture pickup” and say:“Hey, I saw your post—do you still need help? I can come today or tomorrow and take care of it for you.” HOW YOU GET PAID: Cash in person or Venmo/Cash App immediately after the job is done. PROBLEM: People have small repairs or cleanup tasks piling up that they don’t have time, tools, or motivation to handle. WHO PAYS: Busy homeowners, Cornell/Ithaca students moving out, and local families (especially older homeowners) who keep putting off small fixes and cleanups. SOLUTION: I come the same day or next day and knock out their small repairs or cleanups in one visit for a simple flat fee. FIRST MOVE: Message people on Facebook Marketplace or local groups who posted things like “need help,” “free furniture,” or “moving out” and say:“Hey, I saw your post—do you still need help? I can come today or tomorrow and take care of it for you.” HOW YOU GET PAID: Cash in person or Venmo/Cash App immediately after the job is done.
