Basics & Frame
From today's class at Mambolab! All I kept thinking was to hold a baby 😂😂 I also tried to sit back in my 67 more. Something I noticed here is compared to our instructor Noelia (in front), I didn't change the direction of my torso in many of the moves, especially the pachanga. Which Elian is constantly saying to do and this is the first video that I'm really seeing the importance of that.

Nice!
Day 4 – Let the Body Help
Day 4. Today we add just one thing: a soft knee bend. Don’t force body movement. Let it happen through the legs. Basic step. Small steps. Soft knees. Practice slowly. Notice the difference.

Hi @Elian Gomez , Can you give a demonstration of that? I am not sure I understand.
Day 2 - No Shame Challenge
I learned from my Day 1 video that I was stepping my 6 next to my 5 rather than behind it. This was recorded before I read day 3 instructions… and I was definitely thinking too much and taking big steps here 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

It's hard not to think! I also don't really know where to look so I feel the kid is this meme here... lol You're doing great! I think that is a good observation about the size of your steps. I learned that the 3 & 5 should be next to each other, I think... I'll wait for the pros to weigh in on that... But keep up the good work!
Day 3 challenge
I definitely need to work on my facials 😂 decided to go with a faster song today. My focus for today’s video was keeping my basic nice and simple while feeling the music. I tend to catch myself counting when I dance just to make sure I am on time but by doing so I feel as if I’m performing for my follow or the people around me. Reminding myself to enjoy the music and let go, allows me to make social dances more enjoyable not only for myself but also for my follows.

@Chuy Jimenez Your facials are fine... lol You don't have the animal arms that we do. Teach me your secret, Yoda! Lol Nice clean basic. You don't look rushed and your timing is good. It is nice that you are thinking about your follows. Many don't so, as a follow, that is appreciated! 🫶🏾 Keep dancing! You look good! PS That is the jam!
Challenge Day 3
I was thinking about this challenge all day yesterday and I realized that I wasn't fully transferring my weight on the 67; I was teetering in the middle. This was making me a little behind the beat but also, it wasn't allowing me to reset and dig into the ground again. So I tried to keep that in mind, even to fully lift my left foot off the ground on 6. And it seemed to really help! The basic feels better than 2 days ago. After watching this back, one thing I noticed was that I wasn't always holding my hands like a baby ( @Ashley Rivera always says to do this in class and now I finally see why: because it allows your arms to go a little out to the side, which is better for balance and frame. And it looks better.)

@Kristen Branca You look so good! and much more comfortable... like you were able to enjoy yourself more and you also look VERY natural, like a social dancer, not stiff or awkward.

I started dancing On1 at Salseros Internacional in NE Philly with Adaliz Rivera in 2000 then learned mambo with Rafael Benitez. Cha-cha speaks to me.
