Bust Darts
Hello all! Have any of you tried adding bust darts to your knits? If so, do you have any tips or tricks on adding them to patterns you’re following? I hear about bust darts and how they can help tailor your knits, especially knitting in the round. Thank you!

These photos are the best I have. You’ll see how it was flaring out as the pattern was increasing, and then how the short rows under the arm sort of levelled it out. If you were to face this problem with a round yoke sweater, and wanted to resolve but keep some space for your bust, I would think changing the length between (number of stitches between) the short rows on the front side of the top would allow that perhaps?

Unfortunately, I’m not with the sweater for a few weeks or I would get it out and take detailed images to show exactly how it looks and how it worked.
Yoke meditation and starry dawn combo
Sharing my most recent knit. I decided to knit the yoke meditation #4 but wanted the general shape of the Starry Dawn so I combined the patterns. I didn’t have enough coloured contrast to do the transition so I just reversed the yoke pattern at the half way point and used the five contrast colours to add a bit of detail on the cuffs and bottom. I’ve just enough wool left for a matching hat. This is my full ravelry pattern. https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Docmarr/yoke-meditation-series-4

Oh everything about it is beautiful. I love that you were able to use two stoning patterns and make it into a stunning sweater like this. It inspires me to find courage to try things like this. Well done 💝

His and hers jumper and cardigan knitted in Bendigo Woollen Mills Luxury 8 ply in Dark Olive, Jade and Almond. I order Ed just a bit to o much wool for his jumper and managed to have enough to knit me a cardigan. First time ever steeking a project.

Kate! They’re beautiful. Are you local? If so, you MUST try whisper 4ply from Bendigo woollen mills. It’s phenomenal. The stitch definition and softness is perfection. And it is 300m per 100g so most of Zanete’s sport weight patterns work with it. Much softer than luxury

@Kate Scott beautiful! 😍
The Tawus Cardigan is now out with a step-by-step Classroom course
Tawus is the Arabic word for peacock. The name came from the lace motifs at the top of the yoke, which reminded me of a peacock tail. It is a sport weight lace cardigan using a top-down and seamless construction, which means you can try it on as you go. 😍 The upper yoke has more elaborate lacework that asks for your full attention, and there will be moments where it feels tricky. But it does click into place, and from there the lower body changes into a much simpler lace. There is a full step-by-step course available here in the Classroom that walks you through everything step by step. The pattern is available at zaneteknits.com/patterns, and because we just launched our new website, it's available for 20% less, along with all other self-published patterns, when using code WEB26. Newsletter subscribers, check today's newsletter for your exclusive code. 🎁 Offer expires end of day 10th of May, 23:59 BST and if you get any trouble with the code, please get in touch before completing the transaction as discounts can't be applied after the fact.

@Naheed Brown thank you. It really is unique colour! Before I really started knitting (I’m less than 2 years into this) I bought a heap of unlabelled yarn from Temu. This particular yarn is marketed as cashmere/silk/wool blend and it’s absolutely gorgeous to work with. I have knit tawus test and cantabile test which are sport weight both at different gauges, I’ve also knit Fjolla by Isabella kraemer which calls for dk weight. I love the versatility and to be fair, it’s also about 1/5th of the price of a labelled yarn so if you have finance issues, it’s worth it.

@Monica Nugent no, you don’t need to. They are like a feature. Ummm, have a look at zanete’s tutorial for doing the tawus buttons. I’ll try and find it on YouTube.

I think the button tutorial might be on Skool and you may need to purchase the pattern to view it, sorry I’m unsure. But here’s a photo of the buttons to explain what I mean about them being additional to the width of the shirt.
