I know this isn't the most exciting thing in the world. But I use to go to food to help and i did this again consciously in hope to calm me down a bit and It worked for awhile. But lately it's not working anymore.
I think a mixture of discipline will be a temporary band-aid. A long term solution is becoming in tune with your body before you get the craving to eat. What is it you are distracting yourself from? That's the core memory that keeps you trapped.
