Bid too high
My quote to paint cabinets was too high ($2500) they found someone who could do it for $350. I was asked to fix them. I said it would be more than the original quote.

I bet they are regretting going the cheaper route. At my age I have come to realize the cheapest quote isn't always the best. Better to check references and look at past work and pay for the best work vs best price.
