Socialize Saturday... what are you good at doing?
It's Socialize Saturday... which means you're officially in detention with the rest of us. Today's question: Tell us one thing you're really good at that has nothing to do with business. Could be cooking. Could be parallel parking. Could be knowing every 90s TV theme song. Drop it below... let's find out who's hiding some top secret skill. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Finding 4 leaf clovers! My best friend in 1st grade and I trained ourselves to find them. Now I can't help looking whenever I see a patch of clovers.

@Rose Colbourne I don't know about Mississippi, but I've lived in Michigan and Massachusetts and found a ton. Not rare at all. You just have to train your eyes to recognize them. I'm also really good at finding things people drop, like earrings or paperclips.
Where are you promoting your community?
Every Sunday, Skool Homeroom gives you the opportunity to promote your community. But there are a lot of great communities as well as places on social media where you can promote your Skool Community. So tell us... where have you promoted your Skool Community this week?

Socialize Saturday... Easter Weekend
It's time to socialize and get to know each other... that's what Saturday detentions are for, right? So what's everyone's plans for Easter weekend? Do you celebrate Easter? Not celebrate Easter? Have plans? Don't have plans? Tell us what's happening in your little corner of the world this weekend!

we'll be having a ham dinner with my in-laws. A low key holiday, but fun! Yesterday I picked up some cookies in the shape of bunnies and eggs

@Rose Colbourne I know! I'm super lucky!
Update from the move... the last few days have been a lot!
This move did NOT go the way we expected. This is quite long soooo... The short version? It was a mess. The movers didnโ€™t pack the U-Haul correctly at all. There was a ton of open space (about 8' long) left in the center of the truck. They laid mattresses and tall stuff flat instead of standing them against the side. Which meant they didn't stack things to the ceiling height of the truck. A lot of stuff didn't fit on the truck because of it. And at first we didnโ€™t even realize how much stuff got left. We ended up making multiple trips back to the old house in the car trying to grab everything that didnโ€™t fit, and eventually had to rent a second, smaller U-Haul just to get the rest of it moved. We were still at the old house clearing and cleaning the last of the stuff right up to and even after the buyers did the final walk-through. Then on the unloading sideโ€ฆ The guy who originally loaded the truck (and was supposed to be here) didnโ€™t show up. Instead, he sent โ€œhis guys.โ€ And that turned into: stuff getting tossed around things being dropped fragile items not being treated like they were fragile and at one point, one of the guys had his 5-year-old kid helping carry breakable items and eventually.... momma bear calling up the guy who was supposed to be here and letting him know he'd better show up... let's just say lots of words were spoken. ๐Ÿคฃ So yeahโ€ฆ thereโ€™s definitely some damage weโ€™re dealing with now. It was one of those situations where things just kept stacking โ€” and youโ€™re trying to keep everything moving while also realizing itโ€™s not being handled the way it should be. Not gonna lieโ€ฆ it was frustrating. 3 days of loading, unloading, driving back and forth There's boxes and furniture scattered everywhere Broken things to deal with Oh, and when my son was first setting up the U-Haul rental, something went wrong on their end and they cancelled the first rental. And when they re-added it into their system? They cancelled the safe-move insurance. So there's literally thousands of dollars of damage done by the movers, and at this point we're not sure if anything is covered.

@Rose Colbourne it's a lot of turmoil!
Let's talk about onboarding...
so the move was a whole lot of chaos and I'll be dropping an update for all of you a little later today. Everything is quite a bit of a mess and just got my computer set up about 5 minutes ago (that's about how long it takes to start up and navigate to Skool ๐Ÿคฃ) But first... let's talk about onboarding. How do you handle new members when they come into your community? Do you have a defined process... or do you just sort of wing it and play it by ear? I'd love to hear what everyone is doing... Drop your comments below ๐Ÿ‘‡

I've been focusing a lot on this recently. Karen in Skoolhers has a great method, which is to pin a post with an easy challenge to get members from level 1 to level 2 right away. Here's what I'm using for my new group.
