How to Practice Bridal Hair When You Don’t Have Brides Yet
If you don’t have brides booked yet, here’s exactly how I recommend you practice so you feel confident and ready when that first bride comes: 1. Dive into the course first Start by watching the course super in‑depthly. Take notes and practice while you watch on your mannequin head. Focus on the fundamentals! This is where you build the foundation for everything else: ✔ curling hair the right way ✔ teasing for volume ✔ mastering braids without frizz ✔ creating clean, secure twists ✔ learning how to use your products the way I show you These building blocks are the reason the rest of the looks will come naturally later. Your mannequin will be your best friend. My favorite is linked in the course! 2. Move to friends and family Once you feel confident with the basics on your mannequin, start doing full styles from start to finishon people you know. This means practicing actual bridal styles I teach in the course: updos, half‑up/half‑down looks, braids with twists - the real tutorials you learned. Treat these like appointments so you get used to how styles progress from beginning to finished look. 3. Document your progress Take photos and videos of every look you do - mannequin or real person. This is SO important for two reasons: ✨ You can see your improvement over time - and trust me, you’ll be amazed looking back. ✨ You get proof of your work to post on Instagram and start building credibility. Here’s a pro tip: have your friends wear a white robe or white shirt in the photos. It makes the shot look like you’re already doing bridal hair, which helps potential brides trust your skill when they see your work online. 4. Recreate styles from Pinterest Once you feel confident with the foundational and full styles you’ve practiced, level up by picking pictures from Pinterest or Instagram and recreating them. This is exactly what will happen when working a wedding, so practicing this now makes you feel confident and capable when it’s actually for a real wedding party.
