Feeling emotions
My win is that I have started to let myself feel my emotions and let them flow through me. This is a big deal for me! I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and two similar chronic illnesses. I find it really interesting what Justin teaches on Reiki 1 about the cause of chronic illness from a reiki perspective. And emotions not being felt. I wonder can chronic illness be reversed by me feeling my emotions now? And practicing reiki self treatments. I am now 39 years old so it has been going on a long time, sometimes I wonder if it'll ever go away. Or maybe if I wasn't trying so hard to make it go away it may be better 🤔

I am a big fan of Internal Family Systems because it helps me to connect to the "core self" during the day outside of my reiki practice, which to me feels the same self accessed during my reiki practice. It helps me to notice when I am not acting or making decisions from my core self, so I can try to live more authentically. It also does not judge these parts as bad or try to eliminate them when I do though, which is something I have experienced with other psychology practices and I find a block to healing & growing 🙂
Energetic protection: why live in the bad neighbourhood?
A quick thought on how to conceptualize energetic protection. I get asked about this probably more than anything else. So it's not possible to state enough that we need to completely rethink our ideas about this because nearly everyone is giving superficial advice based on applying some kind of shielding technique. Let me ask you this though. Would you rather live in a scary neighbourhood and have super fancy locks on your doors or would you rather live in an area that is calm and safe where people can leave their doors open when they go to drink a coffee with their next-door neighbour? At the level of energy work, so many people choose to stay in the dangerous neighbourhoods of unhealthy relationships and fear-based thinking and ask me about what kind of lock to put on their door. When I suggest to them that they should maybe move house altogether, they give me a kind of blank stare. The answer was not what they were looking for, and the paradigm shift I am suggesting is often too radical or too much work because it means undergoing radical self-enquiry. What do you think?

@Fardau Jansma I thought about this long and hard and have concluded it is other people's reactions to me separating from the unhealthy relationship that precedes the guilt. I feel like "a bad person" when they are upset at me 🤔

This only happens with family members though which may be UK culture to believe I owe them something even when I'm treated badly
How we heal (and how we block it)
What is healing, and how do we get sick in the first place? Yesterday in the hang-out we were speaking about healing. How YOU are the only one who can heal yourself. And the healer solely holds the space to heal. We don't fix others. Fully trusting in the self-healing capacities of the body! That's taking responsibility! And at the same time, as a healer, it's giving lots of clarity on our role. In the Reiki 1 course @Justin Peach explains how we tend to avoid feelings.. Habits that can lead to stagnant energy/ sickness. Very recognisable (yes, maybe I felt a bit called out 🤓) and very human. It can feel pretty comforting losing yourself in social media or a good movie. Losing awareness, not breathing deeply. It takes work to allow energy to flow! Personally I do think there's a time and a place for everything and this does not have to be constant, just giving myself some slack here.. (what do you think?) So I'm curious, what are your ways of not-feeling? And how do you ensure you go back to consciousness?

I numb out with tv and ice cream to avoid feeling! Occasionally it is fine for me to do this, especially if I'm too tired to feel a lot rn and it is something I want to watch, but if I catch myself doing it to avoid feeling when I could then I try to go sit in nature instead and this helps me feel safe with feeling the feelings
Short sessions
Hello everyone, In Justin's video about the foundations of understanding Reiki he talks about Reiki being beneficial and like a RESET to being your true self even if it is only for 10 minutes. I already know how to do self treatments so am already practicing them and currently always wait til I have longer and do the full time. But this can sometimes mean missing a day if I dont have time or energy so I would very much like to do these mini sessions. So my question is if I was only able to do a short practice of say 10 minutes, what would that look like as in would it be doing all the positions for a very short amount of time or just a few positions I felt drawn to? Or can you do just one? 😊
