I hear often, I just wish people could see the silly goofy side of my dog. You do not need them to, that will not change how important and special your dog truly is. You knowing is enough.
That he's sweet and gentle and only barks when he's scared. He'll ignore you if you don't hassle him but when kids chase after him and scream at him, woof woof at him, throw rocks or firecrackers at him he barks. And then the adults yell at me and say he's aggressive. But he's never off-leash so he's the one who suffers, no escape and is subjected to terrorising behaviour from others around him and he's done nothing to invite it, most of the time he's desperately sniffing the ground to signal that he's no threat.
