Don't make the mistake of painting over the table with the background colour like I do in the video!!! I used, Opera pink, alizarin, quinacridone rose and quinacridone magenta, lemon yellow and helio cerulean blue & yellow ochre. but test out your colours first to see what works for you. I did it A5
This evening the paint along is similar to last week’s mixing greens but tonight we explore mixing greys, using just 3 colours and how to avoid making mud. Next week we will return to painting a scene. I thought this beach hut would be nice. I have done a line drawing but without the boat and also adding sand dunes. It’s a chance to be creative with a moody sky and you can experiment with colours. I will probably paint it tomorrow night and upload it for next week because I will be in Cornwall. If you want to have a go before hand feel free! .
I am planning to do my lives in here rather than on YouTube. If you fancy being part of the test group give me a thumbs up. Also what subjects/topics would you like to cover?
Brilliant, I'm all for it as I love the paint alongs, and I love landscapes /seascapes, buildings in the distance, nightlife street scene would be lovely to paint along with you!🎨🌊🚜🏖️🏔️🏜️🏰🌃
Sorry to be so late in posting this image. As you can see, I did this one in February. I didn't like my version, but over the last couple of months I've grown to like it better. This watercolor journey is a slow and quiet process.of learning for me. I can't find the link to this paint along, so I'm posting it here.
Following on from the last couple of weeks, this is the topic for tomorrow. Hopefully each week will show some improvement. It will be recorded but I will be online to answer any questions. Top tip. Use the line drawing. Last week I drew the window freehand and got the perspective wrong. I will also be trying to make it less busy. Use plenty of pigment and we are going to ignore the blue box on the side and paint a flat wall. Here is the link to join me. Youtube
