1st meetup recap
Here is a recap of the 1st meetup! Thank you for all who attended! My age may be getting the best of me as I keep making technical errors.... I recorded the wrong screen for the live... so, here is a Ai written recap of the live. Ai seems to think I am a woman, or a school.... I promise that I will have a recording net time to share with everybody who couldn't make it live. Also, if you can't make it but you have a question, you can directly message me and I will cover it in the live. Summary Hydroponics Community Meeting Updates School hosted a live meeting to discuss the School of Hydroponics community and upcoming content. She acknowledged several active community members and apologized for a scheduling mix-up. School mentioned creating a video explaining nutrients for beginners, based on community voting. She invited feedback on preferred meeting times to better accommodate participants across different time zones. Hydroponic Seed Germination Techniques School discussed the challenges of germinating seeds, particularly in hydroponic gardening, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the right moisture level in rock wool cubes. He explained that the cubes should remain wet but not soaked, and provided guidance on how to check for the correct moisture level. School also mentioned that if the seedlings dry out, they are likely to stop growing and may not recover. He recommended using coconut coir or perlite to help the seedlings grow through a medium, which can strengthen them. Optimal Lighting for Plant Germination School discussed the importance of adequate lighting for plant growth, particularly during germination. They explained that most people tend to provide insufficient light, leading to leggy plants. School recommended using blue LED lights for germination, as they provide powerful photosynthetic radiation without encouraging excessive vegetative growth. They also suggested using rock wool cubes as a germination medium, similar to the paper towel method but with a lower EC. School emphasized the importance of measuring light intensity using a PAR meter to ensure optimal growth conditions.
